    LE Department only weapons

Wait a second; Correct me if I'm wrong but NFA are Machine guns, SBR, SBS, DD, Suppressors, and AOWs, and the Glock 25/28 aren't NFA guns, so I'm good to go, right?

    LE Department only weapons

After remembering that google is my friend I came across ATF Rul. 74-8 it appears that I cannot purchase these pistols. Too bad.

    LE Department only weapons

A gunstore I frequent recently acquired a used Glock 25 and 28 from the local sheriff's department. These guns did not score enough points for importation by the BATFE and where allowed into the country as agency only weapons. Now that the sheriff's department is done with them are they legal to...

    Hughes Amendment Video

Don't know if this has been posted yet or not, I haven't been on here for a few days. Anyways, a recording of the "passage" of the Hughes has been found and uploaded to Youtube. Yay politics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6Mx2UcSEvQ

    Shotgun to rifle conversion

I just gave up and emailed the BATF. Hopefully they don't shoot my dog now. Assuming that I can legally convert a shotgun into a rifle, I'm going for something like this just as a range toy/conversation piece.

    Shotgun to rifle conversion

I was going to buy one of those SIA kits, or at least a 16in .45ACP barrel because I can make a magazine adapter myself. If it makes a difference this will eventually become a Form 1 SBR.

    Shotgun to rifle conversion

I have a 1928 Ishapore converted SMLE mkIII .410 shotgun that I would like to convert to a .45apc carbine. Because it was imported and registered as a shotgun, do you think I will have to receive permission from the BATF or have to re-register it if I convert it? I browsed the BATF's website and...

    Hi-Point stress test

Found the following video on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbvvurXmAmg They beat up a Hi Point. It is surprisingly durable for a >$200 gun. I might have to consider picking up one for use as a truck or BOB gun.

    EAA/Astra A75 - Sig parts commonality?

I just won this .40 EAA/Astra A75 for $240 on Gunbroker. Googling points to this being a pretty decent gun. It's missing a grip screw and I was wondering since this pistol looks pretty "Sig-ish" if there is any parts commonality between the two? Will Sig grips and grip screws or any other small...

Steyr importing MA-1's and SA-1's agian!

http://www.steyrarms.com/news/items/article/july-newsletter-steyr-arms-to-import-pistol-again/?tx_ttnews[backPid]=9&cHash=ce02c24dc7 I think that $649 is a little steep. Around my parts that average $420 for a gently used MA-1. The bright side is that they will be easy to find, so now I...

How well do firearms stand the test of time?

I had received the following in an email a while back. Relevant to topic.

Holster for Dan Wesson Model 15

I've got a Dan Wesson Model 15 with a 2 in barrel. All of the holsters I've seen are for the 4in-6in barrels. I've got in a Uncle Mikes at the moment, which is fine for stomping around the woods with, but I'd like to find IWB holster because I like to carry this from time to time. Does anyone...

Trying to pick out a revolver!

If you're not going to carry it a whole lot I'd do with a DW Model 15. It has interchangeable barrels from 2in up to 10in iirc. Great shooter.

    Hughes Admendment screwup

This may be old news, but I stumbled into this today. It's being spread around other gunsites might be some new ammunition for our legal battle-rifles. via Wikipedia (yes, I am aware that it is wikipedia) Transcpript of the proceedings https://docs.google.com...

The most DEPENDABLE shotgun you own..

I'm going to disagree with ArmedBear. My 870's are run kinda hard, in all weather conditions using all types of ammo. Never have had a problem. *edit* I have locked it up once with a shell in backwards, but only once

    Best .40 for carry?

No love here for the Steyr S40A1? It's what the Glock is supposed to be. Too bad Steyr stopped importing both the M and S series, but they can still be had for around $400.

I like this thread. It lies dormant for a few years, and just when you think it's gone, BAM! it's back.

Open carry segment on PBS Friday 5/7/10

I thought it was fairly well balanced (until Bloomberg got on). It at least gave our side a chance and didn't stray heavily to one side or the other.

    Glock 18

I'm not advocating that at all. No where in any of my posts say that we need to get rid of any gun I feel that for a auto handgun to be shot practically, it pretty much needs a buttstock, which throws it into the SBR catagory and is no longer a handgun. Even the MAC pictured above has a buttstock.

    Glock 18

I didn't say that there was anything "wrong" with having one. It's just personal opinion that they shouldn't be. There are better systems for full auto.
