    Winchester OD Military 00 Buck-substandard?

Interesting. I wonder if it was intended for use as part of a survival kit or other specialized role.

Gelatin tests: 9mm COR BON 100 gr +P & .44 mag Underwood 180 gr XTP

Those results are both very interesting. Thank you for doing this test. I would have expected the .44 Mag to penetrate more and the 9mm to penetrate less.

    Winchester OD Military 00 Buck-substandard?

I've never heard of shotgun shells being drab-colored or non-reflective for military use. All of the shells I was ever issued were red with shiny brass bases.

Apex trigger for M&P or just get a Glock?

OP did not ask if they should get another Glock, they asked if the trigger kit in was worth $165. Subscribed, just because I'm interested in getting an M&P40 with an Apex kit vs. the M&P40 Pro...

    Rate Glock 23 please.

I do not have a personal issue with you. I take issue with your posts. You keep fixating on "personal issues." I would like to see the content of your posts improve. That will not happen unless someone criticizes your posts. Quit taking stuff so personally. You clearly do mind being...

    Rate Glock 23 please.

Much the same as with some corporate emails I get at work, all I can read is the title. I think, "ooh boy, this could be interesting!" Then I read it, and am summarily disappointed. Trust me, this happens far more often than I like. I have a list of people whose threads I just don't open because...

    Rate Glock 23 please.

I have noticed this as well. Attempting to generate discussion is the point of having a forum. However, rehashing topics that have been beaten to death is pointless. If your question can easily be answered by using Google or the search function of this forum, you shouldn't be asking it.

    Single Action Defense

Wow. Pissing. Contest. If you are comfortable with a single action revolver, great. If that's what you've got, great. If you've got a bunch of time and skill and money invested in shooting them, great. The fact remains, there are better, more advanced tools out there. Just because you...

    Single Action Defense

No. Far too many other, better options are available. Why handicap yourself? That's fine if it's all you've got or you like it just because, but you're still hindering yourself. Stack the deck in your favor with every advantage you possibly can.

    Revolver Defense

There was an excellent thread about "tricks of the trade" of using revolvers a while back. There was mention of turning the revolver opposite the direction of cylinder rotation if someone was holding your cylinder as a means of preventing discharge on a double-action trigger pull. There's a hell...

.32 for within a room defense?

Let me elaborate on why .32 ACP sucks as a self-defense round: If you actually need to depend on the immediate use of deadly force (i.e., you need to FIRE your gun), .32 ACP will not be as immediately effective as a stronger caliber. As someone has already pointed out, if you just need to wave...

.32 for within a room defense?

Looks like you have a consensus: .32 ACP sucks for getting out of pickles and/or tough situations. Sure, it's a romantic little round with a great history. So are .22 short and .41 Remington rimfire. Don't see too many people recommending those for SD, do you? That's because they suck at it...

    Need Holster for 4" S&W 629

I disagree. I have the Sourdough Pancake with carry straps and it is concealable in shorts and a t-shirt. I'm 5'11" and 200 lbs, if that matters to you. :)

.32 for within a room defense?

I'm not sure I would use advertising copy or events portrayed in movies as arguments for or against an idea. ;) Suffice to say, .32 ACP is a wonderful cartridge to both shoot and reload, and it's better than nothing. However, there are better options which anyone who is relatively well-read...

Huge velocity difference between 2 revolvers

300+ fps is a "reasonable" range between loads for two revolvers of the same chambering and barrel length?! :what: I'm with CraigC, I consider ~50 fps to be acceptable, but there are some issues with 300 fps variation.

.32 for within a room defense?

Better than harsh language. Barely. 12 gauge. You know you're going to get posts emphasizing shot placement, so let's just focus on caliber? Sounds like you already know the answer to your questions... Then you need to read more.

    Need Holster for 4" S&W 629

I have a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake for my 4" Redhawk. Not the same gun, but pretty close. ;) It is quite comfortable, wears well, and is even concealable. It's an excellent holster, even without factoring in the low cost.

This has been the case for several months. Several manufacturers have suspended or set back production of certain items in order to maintain production or meet demand of others.

    Question about carrying...in the bathroom?

A few others have posted this, or something like it, already: I carry AIWB or 4 o'clock IWB. I loosen my belt to the biggest notch, then refasten it. Lower pants to knee level with my hand on the gun and holster while sitting down. Use knees to create enough tension so that belt/gun/holster...
