    20 Gauge Sabot Trajectory

In a predicament. I'm out of town and the only local range is 25 yards long. I just got a new Savage 220 shotgun and need to sight it in before a hunt on Monday. I'm using 260 grain Remington Accutips (2 3/4 inch) and am curious how high or low it will be at 50, 100, 150, 200, etc yards. Thanks.

Souped up Ruger 10/22 or CZ 452 Lux

So, if you had $400 in your .22 budget, would you add a nice thumbhole stock and bull barrel to your Ruger 10/22 or buy a CZ 452 Lux instead? Will be used for target shooting (only up to 100 yards at my range) and a bit of hunting.

    Compound Bow Technology

Been looking to pick up a new compound bow and am finding that on ebay I can get the Bear 2012 models at retail price, or new 2009 models for half their original price. Has the technology changed that much in the last three years or have compound bows become fashion accessories?

    Bedside Shotgun Safe?

I've been scouring the web and am yet to find a bedside shotgun safe. Seems like it would be a popular product for anyone who has kids. Handguns suck for home defense but I can find thousands of bedside safes for them. Anyone know of such a product?

How to store in an ammo can

Is it OK to have ammo rolling around free in an ammo can, or is it best to leave it in the original boxes?

Rifle and handgun in same caliber

I currently own a GP-100 in .357 and have been looking at pistol caliber lever action Marlins lately. I'd like to get it in 44 mag, but everyone has been telling me how I need to get it in .357 to complement my handgun. I've been trying to understand that logic. They say I can carry both...

    Glock 19 vs 26

I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times before. Looking for a concealed carry gun and have handled both in the store and loved both, but was wondering if shooting the 26 would be that much harsher than the 19. Also I'm 6'5" tall and skinny as a rail, does anyone else with similar...

Strange Question on Conceal Carry in Delaware

I am a Delaware resident thinking about getting a Florida out of state permit because it's cheaper, quicker, and much less hassle than a Delaware permit. When I read the law, it clearly states that a Florida out of state permit is valid in Delaware. The law, however, says nothing about...

    Do you need mag pouches?

Just wondering if there would be any problem with putting velcro on the side of my AR mags and just putting them directly onto a tactical vest.

    Why no Ruger 1911?

It seems they would sell a boatload of these if they went in that direction.

    Next Logical Purchase

    Wondering which gap to fill next (birthday coming up). Looking at a Ruger LCR for concealed carry, a 1911, or an AR-15. Already have: 1. AK-47 (7.62) 2. Ruger P95 (9mm) 3. Ruger GP100 4in (357) 4. Ruger Mark III (.22) 5. Ruger 10/22 (.22) 6. Remington 870 (12 gauge) 7. Savage...

Local indoor range no longer allows WWB ammo

Is this just their way of saying that they don't want you to shoot ammo you didn't buy from them? At $15 a pop to go there for an hour and a minimum of $100 to buy a box of ammo for each handgun from them, that seems a bit much for a little bit of entertainment.

    Laser grip prices

Been interested in putting a laser grip on one of my handguns and just haven't yet been able to justify the price. This got me thinking, why is there such a heavy price? Decent handgun grip = $20 Decent laser pointer = $10 Decent laser grip = $300???? Can anyone explain why...

Apparently the DHS is watching us.

Looks like blogging about, among other things, your right to own a firearm is of interest to the DHS. Remember the good old days when they used to worry about terrorists and foreign dictators? http://michellemalkin.com/2009/04/14/confirme-the-obama-dhs-hit-job-on-conservatives-is-real/

High Road from back in the day

Found a website that shows what websites looked like from different points in time. Let's see if anyone here can remember the site from February 6, 2003: http://web.archive.org/web/20030206012827/http://www.thehighroad.org/

What is the definition of "Gunman"?

Since there have been mass murders everyday in this country the last month or so, I've been paying attention to the articles written about them. Every time they refer to the shooter as "gunman" and I'm just not sure what that means. Is everyone who shoots a "gunman", or only if you commit mass...

Great way to get family/friends into the sport of shooting

This is a follow up to an original post asking if anybody thought it was a bad idea to get a pellet gun to practice real gun shooting skills in my basement. Well, I got one, and the answer to that for me is yes, if you get an accurate gun. I have been getting quite good with this thing at home...

Help me understand why 9mm is better than 38 special

All things being equal (bullet weight, manufacturer, etc) why is the 9mm ballistically superior to the 38 special? The 38 special with 125 grain bullet is essentially the same bullet with more powder behind it, so how can it be so far behind the 9mm in terms of velocity and muzzle energy?
