    60 years, new 3622

How does it shoot? I’ve got one of the recalled Icons that I’m waiting to hear about the resolution for.

Putting a little more power in a $15.00 Daisy

I'd say that there is some velocity left on the table with the standard spring. I'm waiting on a Cobalt spring and a stock 499 plunger head to do some more testing with mine. I can say that a 1/2' spacer on the 1938B spring netted 446FPS average and jumping up to 5/8 pushed it up to 476FPS.

Putting a little more power in a $15.00 Daisy

For Christmas we bought my daughter a 105B Buck since she's been getting curious about guns in general. My childhood was occupied with Crosman pump guns and there are quite a few in the collection. I'd never really had an interest in Daisy until I spent some time shooting with her and found a...

Putting a little more power in a $15.00 Daisy

Terry, Is that a magnet in the abutment? Edit: Yes, yes it is.

Putting a little more power in a $15.00 Daisy

I’ve contemplated these things along the way. Using the 499 setup eliminates the issue of the air tube. I’ve got a spare abutment to experiment with. It would involve a ram rod to seat but I’m curious about adding a spring loaded detent ball that would hold the BB and allow some dwell time for...

Putting a little more power in a $15.00 Daisy

Definitely will. I’m waiting to get my hands on a OEM 499B plunger head to test against. I’d like to see if one or the other is more effective. After that experiment, I plan on porting the abutment a bit to smooth out airflow. I’d like to try taking some material off the face of it as well and...

Putting a little more power in a $15.00 Daisy

Since it seems like this thread has died off a little I figured I'd add one of my latest small projects. Unfortunately I didn't take too many pictures along the way as it was kind of rushed. I'll have to add some of the complete gun too. I wanted to see what kind of velocity could be achieved so...

    IMR 4227 in 357 Magnum

Make sure to point it straight up and tap the ejector briskly. Helps prevent the unburned powder from finding its way under the star. I've never managed to get it to burn clean even at max in .41 Magnum however it provides good accuracy and decent velocity.

Cleaning and inspection of a new gun before shooting

Imagine someone taking one of them, loading it, putting it up, and relying on it for a defensive weapon. I would never advocate it but I'd imagine it happens.

    Finally got a 1911!

I'm sure the more experienced crew will be along shortly but cracked links usually point barrel fitment issues. Calling Tuner and RC!

    Detail Stripping: Poll

I detail strip all new to me guns after I get them home whether factory new or used. I've had older revolvers with congealed oil than needed to be scrubbed at to properly clean and new guns with grit from the manufacturing processes that wouldn't be removed otherwise (Kahr).

    Who has blue hulls?

I've got plenty of B&P hulls that are navy blue too if you need them. Probably have a couple hundred.

Epiphany with media in flash hole.

I just leave it in there and let the primer handle business. If you search hard enough, its been tested a few times to have no bearing on performance.

Tell me about Little Crow Gun Works...

I was impressed with the WFT in .223, .308, and .30-06 until I tried it in 50BMG. Now I'm in love. I can trim 50+ BMG cases in under a minute with almost no variance in OAL. A drill press is pretty much a necessity with them though.

This looks like it could end poorly.

Lethal response to a perceived threat?

This looks like it could end poorly.

While killing a couple minutes on facebook earlier, I stumbled across these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8xSNiPx791A http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_3215710535&feature=iv&src_vid=8xSNiPx791A&v=MkOGb5_ML_8 While I realize these are...

An idea: pressure sensitive cases for reloaders...

I'd have to guess that the initial pressure caused by primer ignition in the pocket would exceed the overall case pressure from the powder burning. Also, variations in firing pin force and protrusion would probably skew the results too.

    Otis B.O.N.E. Tool

Works well. Never realized what builds up in the bolt until I scraped it out.
