I was recently told that if one removes the grips, dunks the revolver in a bucket of kerosene & dryfires it a couple hundred times this will 'burnish' the internal parts & smooth/slick the action without disassembly & polishing.
This true?
I'm casually looking at a Savage 24f .223 over 12 gauge.I kinda recall a thread on them but can't find it (yes I 'Search'ed*G*).Anyone familiar with this model? I have fond memories of the old .22 over .410 or 20 from my youth.
Advantage:Ammo availability
Disadvantages:Price.Only 2 shots.

According to the March '06 'Popular Science' pp80-82 aluminum foil applifies by 20-30 decibels radio waves at 1.2 & 2.6 GHz & "may make it easier for The Man to read your mind."

I've got a shot as a used 4" Colt Anaconda for $650.Previous owner "Couldn't it s**t with it". It or a +/- 7" Ruger Superblackhawk for $350 will partner-up with my Marlin Ltd. .44. I like the 4" barrel & double action of the Colt but am unfamiliar with the Anaconda:any good? I'm quite familiar...
Went to a gun show yesterday & as me & my bud were casually strolling the aisles we were passed by a young (?mid-20's?) rapidly walking toward the door.Just as he passed us a uniformed officer said "Hey!".The kid stopped, raised both hands & said "Ok.".The officer escorted him from the show &...
I was told I can safely shoot .45LC or even .454Casall in my H&R Buffalo
.45-70;that the .45LC would be roughly equivlent to a ".45-70 Short" (??) & the cases might split but seeing the H&R is a closed action there was no hazard.Anyone actually done this? I'm leery,to say the least.

I'm considering upgrading to the Glock 32. I like the feel of the compact frame & am hearing lots of good things about the .357Sig cartridge but wonder if the Glock will stand-up under the battering of that hot load.
All feedback apprecieated.

I just put a 3X9 variable Redfield scope on my .308 BLR & am in the process of zeroing it.A buddy tells me to select one power (say 6X) & leave
it there as changing the power will change the zero. Is this so? If so how much & why did I waste money on a variable? Thanks.
