    Worthy of a laugh (?)

On, or about, 0409 on Thursday, March 2nd, 2006, I was walking my "beat" in the chilly morning air, when I noticed a "shadowy figure" about 5'8" in height with a medium build crossing the street, strolling away from an idling garbage truck. I followed this "figure" across the street, where I...

What would you think of an AR-15, or M4 chambered in...

a 9 X 10mm Magnum? Loaded with eveything from 115-grain Gold Dot Hollow Points, to the 147-grain SXT Winchester Hollow Point bullets? This would be a both a varmint and deer hunter's cartridge. the objective in an AR-15-type carbine with a 16.5" barrel would be a "mean motorscooter"! With a...

    Ted Kennedy has "gone native"

He has a starring role in the pending release of "Dances with Whiskey". :D After this he will be the main character in a spectacular motion picture... "Rum a dumb-dumb"! (The casting director told him that "he was a 'natural' for the part"). ;) Scott

Everyone talks about the "inherent inaccuracy" of...

the 7.62 X 39 Russian military cartridge. If it is so inaccurate, why did Kalashnakov settle on it for both a short-range battle rifle as well as the ubiquitous AK-47 and it's variants? as a fixed-magazine rifle it seems to work reasonably well on deer-sized animals (using hollow or soft point...

Wilson Combat is producing the CQB in 10mm as this is written!

They are now manufacturing the CQB in 10mm! This should be very popular with the "10mm faithful"! (That would be US!) This is SOOOOOOOOO cool! If any of you disagree, feel free to jump in and say so... I didn't think you would! LMAO! It is a Series 80 pistol with either a nine or ten round...

I just qualified with my Glock 20 (10mm) to work as an Armed Security Officer.

I fired but 27 rounds of Blazer 200-grain TMJ loads that clock at a speed of 1050 fps from my pistol. All told, I outgrouped everyone in my class! They were shooting .40 S&W and 9mm Glock Compact Pistols. I LOVE my Glock 20! I will be carrying 135-grain Cor-Bon and 175-grain Winchester...

I am seriously considering going to Iraq!

As a Security Officer to escort convoys. At $100,000.00 (tax-free) this could arrange to have me prepare to attend Law School at the University of Montana in Missoula. I need to take at least $10,000.00 to move Shelley and I to Missoula. I believe that I can handle myself "in country". Its a...

    Great .45 Colt News!

Mike McNett, (the CEO of Double Tap Ammunition) is going to be announcing 5 new loads for the .45 Colt cartridge. There will be heavy loads that will NOT batter the "light duty" Colt & S&W revolvers to pieces, while arranging for them to shoot heavy bullets at substantial velocities for hunting...

I LOVE it when someone asks us "mature" shooters...

about the revolvers and pistols of yesteryear. It reminds me of an ultra-modern digital stereophonic system asking an old "1935 Floor Model Tube-type Philco"... Grandpa, tell us about Amos an' Andy again. Please? :D Scott

If someone built a revolver chambered for the 9 X 18 Makarov...

(using "moon" clips for headspacing) would it be able to shoot the .38 S&W Cartridge? The ill-fated 9mm Federal had that abilty and also had the same bullet diameter. (.360"-.361") Would that be a viable option for the people that want to shoot the 9 X 18 Mak in a revolver? Just an errant...

I just got off the line with Charter 2000's CEO!

I had suggested that he build an "I" frame-sized "undercover-type" of revolver, chambering it in both .32 H&R Magnum (six-shot) and .38 S&W Special (five-shot) revolvers. He was very interested! If he does thses in both all-steel and aluminum alloy frames, these will be an undercover Narcotics...

    "A Christmas Carol"

AN EVENING (WASTED) WITH TOM LEHRER 3. A Christmas Carol One very familiar type of song is the Christmas carol, although it is perhaps a bit out of season at this time. However, I am informed by my disk jockey friends, of whom I have none, that in order to get a song popular by Christmas...

What about a new custom Nagant cylinder?

I was wondering whether or not you could have a custom Nagant cylinder manufactured for either the .32 H&R Magnum, or the .32 S&W Long? This not only could prove cost effective for shooting, but could arraqnge for better accuracy than the .32 ACP cylinders that are being offered on today's...

New offerings from Charco! (.44 Spl, .357 Mag, ,32 H&R Mag,)

I had spoken with the CEO of Charco in September. He stated that he is bringing out the .44 S&W Special, .357 S&W Magnum and the .32 H&R Magnum, all built on their "Bulldog" frame. The .44 S&W Special can be had in either a 2", 4" or 6" barrel lengths. both the 4" and 6" barrel lengths will...

Why can't people place their shots?

It is a simple matter of consistent (read: repeated) training and "trigger control" through "muscle motor memory." Take either a small to medium-bore autoloader and/or revolver. and learn to draw, as well as shoot regularly, placing your shots within a 3-4" circle at a range of 10-15 feet...

Am I the ONLY one on the Forum thats in love with the .32 S&W Long?

I have a deep and abiding love for this old round. It is in excellent "plinker," target round, (duh!) and not too shaby for quick multiple shots on an adversarial target. In it's most powerful configuration, it can crank out about 150 fpe with excellent accuracy (better than the factory .32 ACP...

You may not believe this but... Charter 2000 is EXPANDING!

I recommend looking up their new full-framed, all-steel 'Bulldog' revolvers they are coming out with in .32 H&R Magnum (2" & 4" barrels w/adjustable or fixed sights) as well as .357 S&W Magnum and .44 S&W Special with 4" & 6" barrels w/fixed or adjustable sights. They will be at the S.H.O.T...
