Loading lead bullets in .40 SW

I load IDP#5 from Missouribullet.com with 5 gr. of Bullseye and they are a pretty snappy load. Works great in everything I have tried it in. According to the owner of the bullet company, those are good up to 1400 FPS, but if you want to go faster than that use jacketed or a gas check. To me...

308 vs 243 long range varmint

243 vs. 308 If your .243 is working well, you should sell your .308 and then build another with a 39" barrel (To max out velocity). Or you could build it in .260 or something that is even harder to find brass in. MultiCalinMO

    .40 S&W load questions

I use range pickup brass, 5 gr. of Bullseye, and http://www.missouribullet.com/details.php?prodId=79&category=5&secondary=11&keywords= which is a 180 gr. TCFP. I can get you the OAL if you like, but it is out in the loading area and it is snowing here now with 6 inches expected. Snappy load...

    Undersized 9MM Flash Holes

I have found that flash holes are all over the place as far as diameter goes. It is a very easy fix with an RCBS case prep center. Often this is taking a fair amount of material out to make a uniform flash hole. It is quick and easy with power tools. MulticalinMO

    Which bullet to use?

I have discussed this with Brad at Missouri Bullet Company and he assures me that hardness 18 projectiles can be safely shot at up to 1400 FPS. I like their their .357 Action! http://www.missouribullet.com/results.php?category=5&secondary=10 for a 158 gr. projectile and the PPC#1...

    Dust on brass after tumbling

I use paper towels to dry my hands with at work, so when my hands are dry, the paper towels go in my pocket. I spread out 6 towels in the Lyman turbo 1200, then add the walnut media for the initial cleaning. I have already pretreated the walnut with NuFinish car polish. I only do the NuFinish...

    Ultrasonic Case Cleaning

I have a Horrible Freight unit that is long enough to put a 1911 frame in. Have had it for a few years and it was $179, and has 3 transducers. It works great for cleaning gun parts, brass, or whatever you put in it. For some brass that is really bad, I'll put it in with Dawn, then rinse, put...

RCBS DeCap Die Constantly Breaking Tip on Military .223

My solution: Buy the 50 pack of decapping replacement pins from RCBS! I break one every couple of hundred as some of the crimps are Really Crimped on there. You could have also bent the part that holds the decapping pin. Do check the alignment to see if the shaft is EXACTLY in the middle...

Data for 125g TNT in 7.62x39

Slug the bore, then let us know the results. I bought a box of .323 round balls from Hornady just for that purpose. The results will give a hint if you can do better, but it isn't hard to beat Wolf. I use Reloader 7 with soft point projectiles from Hornady. MOFreedom

    45 ACP load

Not on the list, but I use 5.0 grains of Bullseye with the 230 grain Softball! from Missouri Bullet company. I just go pick them up the same day I want them and get to see the huge piles of lead outside and the finished product of bullets inside. It is a neat operation Brad has going and is...

first batch of reloads and I have some ?s

Compare your COAL and the factory ones that did not have any problems. I'll venture a guess that yours were a bit longer. Also check to see if you did not remove the expansion so the projectile would go in easier. You may need to crimp a bit more, but it is hard to tell without seeing them.

    Been a bad week!

I already had a 1/4-20 tap on hand so I went to the hardware store and bought a cap screw (Allen head hardened) a few washers, and made my own for about $4.00 or so. I have already used it twice, now I use less Lyman spray lube and more of the Hornady unique sizing lube....or is it wax...

    Favorite 7.62X39 Loads (OR)

I use reloader 7 for all of the 7.62x39 loading. Don't have a chrono but about 5% below max was a very snappy load and quite accurate (For an AK anyway).

Should I throw this brass away?

I uniform my brass flash holes with the Lyman hand tool, UNTIL I found it screws right into the RCBS Prep center, now it does the turning for me. Thanks RCBS for yet Another way to make me lasy! Skip in Kingsville
