I found some lake city once fired 308 brass for $25 per 100. It has been cleaned, siezed, and trimmed. Would this be a good idea to buy for my bolt gun, or will it be inaccurate due to the fact it has been shot in various guns?

I have had great luck using brass from a buddy's AR, but then again, they were only shot in one rifle.

LC is the stadard military brass for the 308 amd it is of excellent quality. Just remember that it is milspec brass and has thicker walls and less case capacity than commecial brass...start your loads 5% below recommended starting loads and work up to be safe. I love LC NM brass for my NM M1A.

I agree, the price is too high on that site, you can find a better deal... Any brass that's not damaged and re-sized will be fine you you rifles.

If you do not have a press, 308 full length sizer die with a shell holder, if you do not have a case trimmer, tumbler or micrometer, you have no choice, that leaves you with the required bullet seating system, I have hand seaters and seaters that are are installed in a press.

Purchasing brass, I have purchases a lot of fired brass, 1,400 30/06 cases for $14.00, that is .01 cent each, someone else fired them, I benefit if they fired the cases in a long chamber, if they choose to size the cases the case after sizing offers me no advantage, I know where the shoulder of the chamber is located, long cases allow me to fit the case to the chamber, anyone can fire a case to move the shoulder out, leaving the shoulder out is the difficult part, for most reloaders.

I do not need 308 W brass, I have purchased 308 W, 30/06, 270W and 280R for .008 cents each in the last 2 years, again, I do not want someone else to size my brass for a chamber I do not have, that would be SAMMY'S chamber. my dies are adjustable.

I agree with fguffey; buy unsized brass and size them to your rifle's dimensions. I've got 500 pieces of FC 7.62x51 Nato brass for sale, that all I've done is remove the primer crimp on.

I'm really anal ... I prefer to buy with the crimp still in so I'm 99.99% certain they really are once fired.

I have 3 in '06, 2 in 5.56 and 5 in 7.5 Swiss .... each has it's own brass supply, sized for it's chamber and I get pretty good life expectancy out of my cases.
