You’ll probably get lots of opinions but here’s my 2 cents… I guess it really depends on what kind of shooting you do. I’m just a plinker so a good option for me was the ALG which is the sister company of Geissele. I have a Geissle SSA and the $60 ALG Advanced Combat Trigger which I now prefer...
Midway had a huge clearance sale last year and I picked up the Osprey Defense OPS-416 Gas Piston Kit. I like the Osprey Defense over the Adams because there's no adjustment, it just works. Here's a video by MAC for anyone that's interested. NOTE: there is one error in the video, MAC cites the...
They do but you have to watch the fit between the upper and lower. Some people don’t care and others will put a wedge in between the upper & lower. For example I just purchased the above mentioned PTAC but only at $189.99 w/o the BGC and charging handle from PSA. The upper was a very sloppy fit...
I got my first old blue Mini 14 sometime back in the early to mid-1980’s then upgraded to the stainless steel model in 2010. The Mini was my first .223/5.56 caliber rifle and I still like the Mini 14 platform. They aren’t AR’s or AK's but very decent durable rifles IMO. Is it the best candidate...
I don’t know about the OP’s specific lower situation but I had the SSA trigger in one rifle and I’m also a big fan of the KNS anti-rotation pins. I called KNS a few months ago because Geiselle advised against using the anti-rotation pins with their triggers. I then called K&S and they said they...
I just picked up the Osprey Defense OPS-416 for my next build, this will be my first piston AR. I still need a few more parts (and funds) to complete but looking forward to getting it done in a month or two. Midway just had a decent sale on both the Adams and Osprey kits. I’m no AR expert but...
Interesting discussion. 10 seconds or 10 minutes for a modification is irrelevant as I see it if you have to address a magazine issue right out of the box. Had it not been for the mag issue I think I would have purchased one myself but that’s a problem if it only plays nice with some mags. On a...
I was looking at the .223 version last year but decided against it. If you do a search and you will find the .223 model don’t play nice with all AR mags... I believe the .308 is OK in that regard
When this thread went up I was going to post the Troy pump someone already did but since you mention NY here you go, check out the Windham Weaponry SRC-THD
At the time I sent my rifle in they were very busy so the wait time was the ONLY downside but they were looking to address that... As far as the upgrade itself here’s a few highlights as I see them. Mag adapter is steel and riveted to receiver.
The DA bullet guide is also custom and much...
I don’t know which S&W you have but I purchased the M&P15 and the first thing I replaced was the trigger with the Geissele SSA. The Tapco G2 was 100x better than the M&P15 stock trigger. I realize we are comparing two different animals here and you may not need to spend $200 for a decent AR...
The link you posted isn’t working, I assume this is the trigger . I’m no AR expert but I do know from my own experience for $200 (shipped if you shop around) you can’t beat the Geissele. I have two of them and wouldn't use anything less
That could be a whole other debate which is “They Don't Make Em Like They Use To”. As far as the topic, I see both sides but I do have a few mags loaded

For myself the only thing I would add is the degree of cleaning. For example at the very least after 40 – 60 rounds of .223/5.56 probably just going to run a patch or bore snake down the barrel every time out and wipe it down. Then say every 3rd or 4th time out a full cleaning...
I just picked one up a few weeks ago and installed it on my M&P15. I only had it out once but I like it Here's a good review on them...
