I have a uberti cattleman and want to put those colt rubber/plastic single action army grips on it. Has anyone tried this? Im not sure which generation of grips to buy to fit to the uberti. I assume i should find 1st gen colt grips because the uberti is supposed to be a copy of the 1st gen colt...
anybody a lefty that shoots flintlocks?
i want to get into flintlocks
specifically rifles because pistols are far enough away from your face
just worried about my face being so close to the flash
the right handed ones are easier to find and can be had for cheaper
i am not looking right now...
i recently picked up a pietta 1860 on sale at cabelas
the revolver locks up just fine but i think the bolt is coming up too soon while cocking
the bolt is sized correctly i checked but on the lead in on the cylinder groove is starting to peen a little bit just on the edge of the groove at...
Shot my first deer this year during gun season and bp season is coming up and i have no bp rifles so was thinking of taking my walker or 1860 out and hunting with that. Any thoughts or ideas? What have you guys used and what have you taken with bp pistols?
this might have already been put up but i couldn't find it
maybe ive been out of the blackpowder game awhile (deployments keep you away)
but i just got on cabela's website and they have pietta patersons!
did everyone else know this already...
does anyone have one of these cimarron rimfire derringers?
ive always wanted one of these 2 barrel derringers and this is one i havent found any info on besides the cabelas website or the cimarron site

Been looking into casting my own .454s
I can find molds easy enough and I can build a fire
But where can I find lead to melt down other than the
I know a guy source?
Anybody had any experience with these?
Who makes these pistols?
They seem to be more expensive on the 'regular' bp pistols (1851s, 58s, 60s)
But cheaper than most on the bigger pistols (dragoons, walker)
I was checking prices from texas jacks.
Anybody with some info?
So I've been reading on the APP website and they recommend NOT using lube as their APP produces its own lube. Now is it enough lube to keep the cylinder turning or just enough to keep the barrel from fouling. They make some seemingly tall claims on their site that make us look like fools for...
I know that the 1851 brass frames were originally round barrels and .36
There were so brass frame 1858s
Is there any historical truth to the replica brass 1860s?
i have been considering getting an extra cylinder for my pietta 1858.
i have the points on my cabelas club card to get out outright.
i was wondering who has had experience with buying extra cylinders
for their pietta 58's?
it doesnt seem like they need to be timed.
any help would be...
I was wondering what a good way to lube a revolvers chambers for carry for hiking or whatever. I usually lube with borebutter over the bullet with a lubed wad beneath but borebutter seems too runny for carry. Any ideas or suggestions? Also I read somewhere that you can put lube under the ball...
i took out my '58 today after not having shot it since about a year and a half ago and noticed a small spot of rust on the frame where the hammer rests . so i immediately tore it all apart and thoroughly cleaned every nook and cranny. then oiled the crap out of it. then while it was out and...
So I watched dead man's walk a prequil to lonesome dove and was amazed at the selection of firearms they used. Set in 1842 they had flintlocks singleshot caplocks pattersons and walkers everything fits except the walkers. One thing that stuck out was the Mexican captain who marches them on the...
My walker cycles just fine for the first shot or two then the arbor fouls up some and it gets a little hard to cock and I have to help the cylinder turn because it binds up a bit. Is this normal or is there something I can do to fix it? I've only shot maybe 40 rounds through it.
Thanks
I was wondering if anybody would post pictures of them disassembling their walkers in order a complete disassembly for cleaning and whatnot I've been wanting to take mine apart but it seems a daunting task. Thanks
has anybody used the adjustable walker flask from cabelas?
does it work well or is there another type of flask that most people recommend?
all i have is a cheap plastic flask and i want one that has a measured spout on it.
so ever since i first saw the outlaw josey wales my absolute favorite pistol has been the 1847 walker and ive always wanted one. about a year ago when i first got into black powder i didnt have the cash to buy a walker so i got an 1858 remmy which i love, plus i think it was better to get into...
show us some pics of your craftsmanship
pics of guns you built from kits or refinished
the more customized the better!
ive been wanting to get a bp pistol kit probably a walker
and was wondering about the different ways to finish it
