    6.5-06

Love the 6.5-06 Had a ER Shaw barrel installed 15 years ago, throated for 140 Sierras. I've gotten 3160, 3070, and 2935 with 120s, 129s, and 140s respectively at the chrony. 270 brass is too long. I use '06 brass because it's cheaper than 25-06. In deference to other posts, a 6.5-06...

    .41 mag anyone?

Have owned several S&W 41 mags over the years. Currently own a Bisley Blackhawk and a S&W 657. I had the barrel of the 657 cut to 4 inches with Weigand sights installed - My, my, my! No matter what anyone tells you, the 41 kicks ALOT less in full power loads than a 44. I had a 657 3" that...

    Unique adventures

    Have also used Unique for almost 40 years. 7.0gr behind a 200 FP in ACP, 10gr. behind a 275LBT in LongColt, 9gr. behind a 250LSW in 44Mag.

    30-06 bullet for deer

Have used 150 Hornady SP for a long time with great success with all kills under 200yds. Chose Hornady because it grouped much better than Speer, Nos, and Rem in my barrel with IMR-4064. 2950fps and 18fps extreme spread on the chrony.

    44 Mag hunting load...?

Per 41Mag, I've used Rem 240sjhp,and 240sp under 23gr of H-110 for many years. Deadly and cheap.

can magnum small pistol primers be used as standard small rifle primers?

NO! Most Magnum pistols are in the 35-43k PSI range. Modest rifle pressure is 50k. If you do, update your living will and organ donation card, cause gas will be coming your way.

Has anyone reloaded for .338 Federal

I use 200gr Hornady in my .338-06 with 4320. I would try Varget in the .308 case.

    260 Remington in Short Barrel

Thanks, NCsmitty. I use Varget in my .308 nicely. RL-17 is out here, but I'll sure get some when available. I've got a ton of 120 CL and 129 IL that I use in my 6.5-06.

I've used 748 and Varget with great success and 1" groups with 150 Hornadys

    Best brass for loading .308?

I've used WW for 30 years. I get at least two more loads over Remington before cracked necks or other wear indications. I've found that WW cases can take at least a grain more 748 before head expansion says MAX.

    260 Remington in Short Barrel

Most of the loading manuals list the best loads with slower powders, such as RL-19. Would like some faster powder ideas for my Ruger Compact with 16.5 barrel, so there is not as much muzzle flash. Thanks

    Reloading Wolf

Schteel Hard on carbide sleeves in pistol. I don't fool with them and don't buy Wolf. Over the past 40 years, I've found that price in the absense of value is not a consideration.

    .30-06 loads for the 1903

P-17 Loads My P-17 of the same period digests 150 Hornadys in WW Cases over 52gr. of 4064 without complaint for about 2 MOA, which is about what I can do with 60 year eyes. Manual said 53 was max.
