My Speer #12 has a section labeled Ruger & Contender only. It means you can use the data for either gun. anything special you are looking for. I'll look it up for you.

I doubt you'll find any "Ruger only" loads for .357 mag. SAAMI pressure specs are already on the top end for this one. Usually when people start talking about "Ruger" loads for a cartridge, it is referring to hot loads for .45 Colt.

Load your Ruger for safe upper end .357 mag velocities and it will be hot enough.

OC- Two things to check here-

1. Crimp

2. Neck tension.

For the powder to burn well you need both, so check your slug diameter, your inside case diameter after expanding, and make sure you have a good crimp on them.

iv found the problem, i was loading universal using clays load data. the hole universal clays thing had me thinking it was listed as clays insteadd of as universal. maybe loading it to the universal specs will help with my problem, thank you all for your help

I joined Loaddata.com. These are the Wolf Publishing people that produce, Rifle, Handloader, and Hunter magazines. It has all the manual data, Pet Loads, and Handloader mag data. Brian Pearce has a recent article on the 45LC, using a 5.5 inch Bisley as the platform. He has categorized the loads as 14,000, 20,000, and 32,000 PSI. I use a 275 LBT and my current recoil threshold is at the 1100fps, 20,000 PSI level.
