White lithium grease on 1911 barrel/bushing

Anyone ever use quality white lithium grease on the barrel/bushing on a 1911. I use it sparingly and figure that it stays on longer and tighten up the barrel to bushing fit, plus less wear. I have been using it for a while now and and very happy with it . Any thoughs?

How many times can you reload a. 45acp casing?

I am curious, does any one out there, have any suggestions on how many times you can reload a .45ACP casing.? I lose track of how many times I reload my cases. Recently, I had a Winchester case split at the base by the rim, which caused the charge to blow out towards the mag well, and...

    Ruger SR 1911

Sr1911 I absolutely love my SR1911! I have 3 Colts 1911's(Government, Lightweight Commander, and a Gold Cup Trophy ). So I am very familiar with 1911's. Slide to frame fit is very good. It is very accurate, and with around 2200 rounds through it, it has never failed to fire. I would...

    Model 1873 Springfield trapdoor ejector

hi folks, I just acquired a very nice Springfield Trapdoor rifle. The gun is in very good shape (except some fool sanded the wood and pretty much removed the cartouches). The rest of the gun is great, bore is shiny with pronounced lands and grooves. My question is: isn't the spent shell...

    1866 Winchester in " Heaven's Gate"

Ed Harris' movie Ed Harris produced a move back in 2011 I think, called Appaloosa. He strived for authenticity with all the period correct buildings, scenes, trains, and especially gun and their sounds. Check it out, I bet you'll like it

    Uberti Model '66 accuracy issues

I have a Uberti 1866 Winchester replica in .45 Colt with a 24.25" barrel. My best load for that rifle seems to be 10.5 gr of HS-6 with a 250 gr RNFP hard cast lead bullet , chrono'd @ 1146 fps. I finish each round off with Lee Factory Crimp die. That load seems to group no better than 3.5" to...

Colt Official Police , stuck case in cylinder

I have a 1937 Colt Official Police that shoots ok , after each cylinder load ( 6 shots), one shell case gets stuck in the same cylinder bore. I can get it out, but I have to tap it out. I suspect that the one bore is slightly worn oversize. Is there any way to fix this? I know that parts for...

.45ACP and Lee factory crimp die

I currently reload several calibers and use the Lee Factory Crimp for all but the. 45 ACP. my question is: Will I get any improvement in accuracy by using the LFCD on the.45 ACP? I have and old Series 70 Colt Gov't and a new Gold Cup Trophy. I shoot 200 gr RNFP and Titegroup or Universal...

    Colt Python

I have a chance to buy an early 70's Colt Python. I was wondering do the Pythons from that era have the full lug under barrel and that sight rail on top of the barrel? The gun comes with original box and the lady told me that it is in great shape and appears to have not been fired. The...

    1924 Colt Police Positive

1924 Colit Police Positve I previously posted a question about a newly acquired 1924 Colt Police Positive .38. The gun has a small frame, and the cylinder is too short for .38 Spec. (which I reload for). I am trying to find out what the exact cartridge is that this gun was designed for. I...

    1924 Colt Police Positive

I just won a bid for a Colt Police Positive on Gunbroker. The gun is gorgeous for such an old piece. It locks up tight, and hardly had any usage. My problem is ammo. I reload, but I was hoping I can pick up a couple of boxes of factory ammo somewhere. I am having a hell of a time finding any...

    S & W Model 29-3 barrel issue

S&W M-29-3 barrel lengtb I just measured the barrel length of my S&W Model 29-3 with a set of calipers' depth rod and It measured 5.900" (through the bore). I measured from tip of barrel to the face of the cylinder. The gun looks untouched. It is almost like S&W installed it themselves...

    S & W Model 29-3 barrel issue

I just recently purchased a Smith and Wesson Mod. 29-3 in gorgeous condition. It sold for $549. I always wanted a 29, and when I saw this, I couldn't resist it. They sold the gun as a 5 7/8" barrel, but I can't seem to find much on 5 7/8" 29's. S&W said it left the plant as a 6" in 10/86...
