I will be moving to Nevada soon and starting to pack things up. I have about 10 lbs of powder, around 6K of primers several lbs. of Black and 1000 percussion caps. Any suggestions on the safest way pack these things so I don't have any surprises on the interstate? I'm planning on loading...
Just got a new CMP Garand (it really does look new) Decided to strip, clean, grease it before shooting it. All went well until the last step, putting the trigger group back in. It goes this far then won't budge.
By itself it closes just fine
Without the stock it will close fine...
I am looking to buy one of the following:
Lyman Trade Rifle http://www.hinterlandoutfitters.com/lyman-trade-rifle-6032126-black-powder-hardwood-blue-lock-p-16817.html
Or: Pedersoli Traditional Hawken...
I was going to ask how folks get their revolvers to the range when I saw a "muzzleloader box" on Amazon. It didn't have very good reviews so I said to myself "Self you could make a better one of those" So with a $10 Stanley tool box from Wally World and some scraps I came up with this...
I didn't want to hijack the other Berry/Rainier thread.
My question is a little different, using Unique or Bullseye Powders.
I know what the Rainier and Berry websites say about loading using either lead or jacketed data. The Loading manuals I have don't have data for Berrys .38 special 125...
Since I don't have my Lee primer shell holders yet, I've been busy depriming my brass. My question is: what is a simple way to keep all of the spent primers from going nearly everywhere??
I heard this at the local gun show, (I have a lot of salt) Can small rifle primers be used instead in place of small pistol primers for low to moderate loads in .38 spl. .40 sw and .45 acp ??
Small pistol primers seem to be back ordered in many places.
Thank you
Fired my first reload yesterday. Only reloaded one because I couldn't get the shell holder to fit in the Lee Auto Prime XR. It is the the shell holder that came with the dies. Everything is Lee. Loading .40sw with a lee turret. Is there a difference in the shell holders for the loader VS the...
I just bought a Lee Pro 1000 set up for .38 special and would like to be able to load .45 acp and .40sw. Besides the dies, what other parts for the loader will I need?
An additional question: Do I need a crimper?
Thank you
I used the above title even though the organizations involved are not insurance companies. I am thinking about joining one of the organizations offering legal help and funds for my defense if I'm involved in a self-defense shooting.
The organizations I have looked at so far are: CHLPP, USCCA...
This Wyoming Fool is thinking about moving and Fallon Nevada looks like a possibility.
I flew into the Naval Air Station there many decades ago and the memory stuck with me. If anyone on here lives there or near by I'd like some info. Things like property taxes, fuel costs, quality of life...
Sorry if this has been posted already but it wouldn't hurt to vote Chicago style.

Several weeks ago I got my XDM 40 and today I got a Crossbreed Super Tuck holster. I have applied for a Conceal Weapon Permit but I haven't got it yet. Can I carry an unloaded weapon in the holster before I get the permit? I have looked up the Wyoming statute on CWP and the first line states in...
I understand that an interstate transfer of a handgun between non-ffl holders requires the transfer of the handgun to a ffl in the buyers state. My question is does the handgun have to be sent by carrier or can the seller deliver it in person to the ffl to be picked up by the buyer?
I have been having trouble finding information on this old revolver. It belonged to my Dad and I have had it since he passed away some 30 odd years ago. I remember him using it to shoot blanks at the ECV get together's back then. It has a hair trigger and is really unsafe to shoot. I've heard...
A bill in the Senate, S. 845, co-sponsored by Senator John Thune (R-SD) and Senator David Vitter (R-LA), allows for reciprocity among all the states that currently allow citizens to lawfully carry a concealed firearm.
