any camp perry regulars care to speculate on what the stock and deals will be like this year during the CMP week?

what are you looking to buy?

can't imagine there will be any powder/primers available, much less at reasonable prices, but I'm wondering if there might be some pretty decent deals on ARs.

This is a report on vendors row from a couple days ago from the CMP forums, http://www.odcmp.org/new_forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=73838.
Today we went up to Camp Perry to pickup our packets for the NRA smallbore matches this coming week. We arrived at 10:30am and went through In Processing in no time. Even when you are not shooting a CMP match, they need to check that you have signed an affadavit so you can get your wristband. We then went over to the new NRA building and picked up our packets.

In the packet was a coupon for a free Eley hat. They are in a tent next to the Range Control building. Lapua was also there so we got some Lapua stickers, pens, and patches. I also got a Lapua hat and shirt for $10 each.

Next we went over to Commercial Row. Armalite, Rock River, Springfield Armory, and Bushmaster were not there. Springfield had a sign that said they would be back in the afternoon of July 31. There were about 3 vendors doing custom ear plugs. 10 Ring was there doing Anschutz repairs for the smallbore shooters. The tee shirt guy was there. He had a sign that said his business was for sale. The smallbore vendor who sells Kurt Thune and Sauer gloves, shooting sweaters, slings, etc. was there. Champion's Choice was there selling the usual stuff. The Anschutz 1913 rifles now have a different type of aluminum stock - I can't say I like that new stock. They are around $2900. The Walther and related smallbore rifles are all around that price. Here are some prices from Champions Choice for ammo and components:
Lapua Center-X (.22) $92.00 per brick, $880 per 5000.
Eley Match (black box) $104.00 per brick, $985 per 5000.
Eley Tenex (red box) $257.00 per brick, $1495 per 5000.
Wolf Match Extra $65.00 per brick, $600.00 per 5000.
Sierra .223 80gr $99.00 per 500.
Sierra .223 77gr $97.00 per 500.
Sierra .223 69gr $84.00 per 500.
RE-15 5lb $92.00
CCII Large Rifle primers $160.00 per 5000.
Federal Large match rifle primers $190.00 per 5000.
IMR 4064 8lb $182.00
N133 8lb $182.00
N130 4 lb $94.00

I also went in Champions Shooter Supply and talked to Karl. Brought 2 bricks of Center-X. He only had one brick left but his cost per 5000 was $825.00. They also had:
Sierra .223 80gr around $100 per 500.
N140 8lbs $182.00. same price for N133 and N135.
Champion Shooters has lots of SKS and Wolf Ammo. I think Wolf Match Extra was around $65 per brick. Eley Match was $990 per 5000. I forget what Eley Tenex was. They have lots of shooting mats and stands.

Sinclair International was also there. Their bullet and power prices were slightly higher than the other two. They had about the same stuff they have every year.

FFF from Ashland was there. Their price for RE-15 was $96.99 and they had some Remington 7.5 primers for $199 per 5000. The IMR 4064, 4198, 4831 powder were all $124.99 per 8lbs. Their Sierra 80 and 77gr bullets were around $100 per 500 and they had a lot of them. I forget the price for 69gr Sierras. They were also selling shotgun components including 25lb of lead shot.

so powder and primers are a total bust, no real surprise

i did score some decent deals though:

dang near everybody has blemished AR receivers. I bought four colt m4 uppers for $50 ea; only thing wrong was the laser etching on the top which i'm going to duracoat over anyway. got 4 charging handles for $10 ea that were discolored in the same deal

bought two LMT SOPMOD complete kits for $200 ea

DPMS has VTAC/JP handguards for $140

Armalite, DMPS and others have lots of good deals on blemished AR10 receivers. several 308 barrels too

got some other misc small parts like gas tubes and whatnot...

i continue to be disappointed with trigger and barrel prices and selection

i didn't check prices, but there are many, many tables full of complete uppers, so i'd guess there are deals to be had

Anybody know if Springfield has their usual close-outs on odds and ends handguns? A friend got an excellent deal on the least expensive MicroCompact a few years ago.

they have a table full of handguns, but they all look like new XD or 1911s

They used to have closeouts of what were probably display guns, to the left of the cash register. They were usually new guns, but pretty much a random selection. Occasionally, they would have parts guns, as I recall.

Do they still have tables of parts along the wall back behind the clothes?
