You don't need a $3,000+ Nightforce, custom rifle, and handloads to be successful at 1760 yards haha. Dialing and holding over the little Nikon with assistance from Strelok Pro. All the details are in the video description. Factory stock Ruger American Predator 6.5 Creedmoor. Factory ammunition. Enjoy.

After watching the scope adjustments, I lost interest.

Is it ever said what the size of the target is?

At one mile I would expect the cross hairs to hide a steamboat.

I need to go back and measure it with my Vortex reticle. The target is on a cliff side and not accessible. I'm guessing the rock face I was shooting at is about the size of a stop sign (34"). I had to back the magnification to 7x in order to achieve the proper holdover so the target was really small in the scope.

Nice try and shooting, I grabbed a couple few years ago as soon the voice was on the market and dress a CZ 452 and CZ550 FS 308. However, I do buy American or halve made US ala Leupold when I can afford it.

I can’t say this is such a surprise. A run of the mill Redfield AccuRange reticle on a 3-9x40mm scope helped me plink away at a 20” gong at 1,000 yards. The rifle —-6.5 Creedmoor, Hornady 129 grain SST over 43 grains of RL-17 and a 700 yard zero setting. The bottom hold over point came to 998 yards or something almost on 1,000.
Still, he had the time, the distance, and the ability to track shots and apply changes.

Nikon may be out of the scope making business, but their top line camera lens glass is termed "ED". I'm seeing scopes touting ED glass elements lately and it makes me wonder if Nikon is the supplier. I really like my M-308 scopes, agree that Nikon was generally underrated.

Not really by intent but all my current scopes are Nikon. It had mostly to do with price and availability. It’s nice not to need to rezero my Marlin 60 every trip to the range.

In the 1960's Army expert shoots could hit a man size pop-up target from prone position at 600 meters with time limits. To me shooting further with and good scope on a good bolt action from a solid rest isn't that far-fetched for a very skilled shooter. Still a mile is a very long way.

I've used a 6X (1-6 Nikon Black, rip Nikon scopes) quite effectively out to 1000 yards on my 6.5 CR and .308 Win ARs. I've got several 6-24, 4-16 etc scopes, and I find out to 1000 yards magnification beyond about 12X makes it harder for me to hit the target since I shoot mostly off a bipod, not in a locked down bench rest or similar. It becomes pretty tough for me, especially with the often high gusting winds on the ranches we shoot on, to holds that reticle effectively still at 18-30X.

Good shooting with my kind of equipment! Good video! I have the original Buckmasters on a Rem 742 30-06 and it's still as good as new

I just bought a budget Sig "Buckmasters" scope-I wonder if there's any continuity with Nikon's line?

No, the Sig is not a continuance of the Nikon products, they’re producing an independent model line. The Buckmaster monicker is a partnership with Buckmasters LTD, effectively an online magazine. Just like the “Bone Collector” line of Bushnell scopes, or the Simmons Predator line, or the Ford King Ranch…
