10-22 Book. questions

I bought it YEARS ago--as in 20+ years ago. I was something like 15 yrs old.

Other than giving detailed info on how to modify the 10/22 in ways illegal to most of us in the US (auto sear/open bolt/etc) and promoting the proposition that the 10/22 was a 'poor mans' smg or Colt Commando, it really is of not much use. It might give some insight on how the thing works and might spark ideas for as-yet legal mods you might try for a specific build.

Don't get me wrong--I think it is A-OK to want to know how anything is done in an academic sense; this is America. I just tend to think that, as said, this has been improved on over the years. The people writing the ad copy for that web site you link to need to be a bit up front: yes, they state the book DOES teach how to make full auto parts for the 10/22 but fail to mention the fact that it is illegal to do so.

I still have my 10/22--I never developed the ambition to make it into an 'exotic weapons system' beyond puting a flash hider on it and painting the stock w/ black epoxy paint.

At age 16 I discovered girls.

Spend the money on ammo and good quality mags.

Can't think that .22LR would be much use from a 4" barrel, no matter how many rounds you dump at the target. Prepared for anything my behind; Perhaps the author should be put up against a grizzly with his supposed uber weapon, or against someone with a gun more than 6' away.
