I have a kit you put together that requires 2- Ruger 10/22's. Friend of mine has one and it's lots of fun in west Texas on jack rabbits. I put everything together but it fires 3-4 rotations then nothing. I really need a good gunsmith who can help me sync. this thing. does anyone have a clue or know a gunsmith who has built one or worked on one.

Gunsmith?
It can't be that complicated.

All it is doing is tripping each trigger every time the crank goes around.

Does each barreled-action work 100% by itself when in a stock?

Do those plastic fantastic 30-round mags work at all in anything?

Gotta be one thing or the other.

I agree with RC. Nothing to "sync" about it, it either fires each gun separately by alternating trigger pull, or it doesn't! If it doesn't, what is the cause for it stopping? Is one gun getting jammed? Is one of those magazines (or both) crap that can only be held one way for it (them) to operate?

If each gun shoots a full 30 rounds on its own, lying in the position it has to be in, then there is something wrong with the trigger-pull mechanism.

yes, I ran 1000 rounds through each clip and through each gun before breaking them down and doing the kit. I was warned about that early on. A friend told me (he has one about 600 miles away) to run a minimum of 500 rounds through the gun to some what start the brake in prosess to begin. These guns have thousands of .22 rounds put down the barrels. so 500-1000 rds is not really a good break in.

the trigger cycling devise isn't pulling the trigger fully backwards enough, so if you put a spacer in then the trigger will not go far enough forwards to reset.

Well the instructions sounds like you adjust by loosening the barrel clamps and move the gun back and forth until it works right.

Step #14.
http://www.gatlinguns.net/docs/Assembly-Instructions.pdf

It also says in step #9
YOU WILL WANT
TO REFER TO THE SUPPLEMENT PAGES AT
THIS TIME FOR PROPER TIMING OF THE GUNS.

But I can't find the supplemental pages PDF on the net.
Did you get them with your kit?

I talked to Jim Clark jr with Clark gun's, there 20 minutes down the road. He laughed and said he wouldn't touch it. I purchased a 1911 Clark custom .45 and a Clark Custom 10/22 for my daughter 2 yrs ago. Jim asked if I wanted another .45 though. HA HA, NOT FUNNY! So I called Red Jacket firearms in Baton Rouge and they have a 2 yr back log, and again, will not touch it. Does anyone have a clue what gunsmith can sync this thing?????

Does it have a brand name?
If so, call them and whine till they tell you how to fix it.

I'm not even believing you had enough guts, or money to ask Clark's to work on it!!

Red Jacket too! Be sure and take your Big check-book!!

You must Really want it to work!!!

So each gun will work fine the first 3 to 4 shots and then stops?

I seems the most logical explanation is the barrels are slipping in the clamps and getting out of adjustment due to recoil or the bolts slamming back and forth.

Try some Blue lock-tight on them where the clamps fit over the barrels and then get it adjusted & dry-firing right.
But don't actually shoot it till the next day after the lock-tight has time to cure..

rcmodel, I knew the late Jim Clark sr. He is the reason I have my Clark Custom .45 . He tought me how to shoot bowling pins. So yes to ask his son was not a big thing. Also spent a couple of thousand dollars last yr with him on a new .45 and a Clark 10/22 custom.

If the actions themselves are good, then it sounds to me that there isn't long enough travel in the trigger actuating mechanism to work with your two actions. This could be due to poor or moving position of action relative to trigger actuator, or the mechanism has too much slop and is not transferring all it should (lost motion), or it is poorly machined and/or designed. Or more than one cause.

switch the guns around. see if that helps. sounds like an alignment problem imop.
