$100+ to rent AR w/ 50 rounds??

Unless a range visit is spur-of-the-moment, I can't imagine not having my own eye and hearing protection and a spare set for a guest, they really aren't expensive.

I'm not surprised about the eyes and ears rental fee (it's $3 to rent those at my local range), but I am a bit surprised to see the cost some folks are expecting to pay for targets. I'm hoping these are silhouette targets we're talking about.

I used to frequent an indoor range where targets other than what was sold on on site were prohibited, much like outside candy is prohibited at theaters. As one could expect, targets were fairly expensive.
Yes, I'm aware that's the proprietor's right, but it would burn me up (being the mark-up was around the 500%).

Fortunately, another indoor range opened and had no such rule. The targets they did have on hand ranged from a quarter a piece to .75 cents. From what I've heard, the first range did away with the "no targets but ours" rule, though much of their clientele had a preference for the second range by that time. I don't know for sure about the policy change as I was one of those who left.

That's how the invisible hand works, I guess.
