So this morning I was sitting in a single man ladder stand and I knew it would be close range and that a 25 yard shot would be as long as I would get. I decided to take my AR pistol in 10mm.

Its a Moriarti Arms 10.5 inch complete pistol from them. My 10mm reloads with the Swift A Frame 180gr bullets clock over 1450fps.

Well all morning I had 5 or 6 does cruising back and forth and had a small spike and a 4 point buck come by. Mid morning I had 5 does walk single file on a trail about 15 yards behind me. I figured that maybe just maybe a buck would be following them...well I was right. 10 min later back behind me at about 20 yards I see him coming with his nose straight down following those does. I had turn in my stand and actually shoot behind me at about 5 o'clock. If I wasn't a lefty there is no way I'd have been able to get around on him. Well he stepped in a small little clearing quartering away and I gave him the tried and true "meh" sound. Well he picked his head up I steadied the red dot on him aiming for his off side shoulder.

At the shot he jumped straight up into the air and had the hunch back and bolted with his head down. I knew I had hit him good. After a 1/2 hour wait I climb down and go to where he was standing and I find a decent blood trail. And after following torn up leaves and a good easy to follow blood trail, there he was about 60 yards away through the woods. Bullet went in the ribs tore up both lungs through other side ribs and through offside shoulder, bullet was recovered under skin on the offside.

That 180 Swift A Frame sure is an expensive bullet but for the velocity I can get them with that 10.5 barrel and the performance I have just seen I'll keep using them. EDIT: cleaned up the bullet and weighed it. Weighs 177.4gr

Awesome congrats. We still don't have semi-auto approved in Pa for big game as of now. For small game and varmints we do. I think soon for big game we will too. I would love to hunt with my Hi-point 10mm carbine.

Thanks guys. And CoolAl the 10mm Hi-Point would make a good close range hunting gun for close range deer. For close range good angle shots into the lungs it works just fine. I know the 180 and 200 XTP's get high marks and they've earned it, but for the high velocity I can get with the longer barrel I'll keep shooting the Swift A Frames.
