Hi guys, I am new to this forum so bear with me. I picked up a Thureon Defense 10mm carbine and have shot only about 400 rounds through it always working flawlessly and always a joy to short even though it shoots a pistol caliber and yesterday while at the range i was about to shoot my last couple rounds of aluminum blazer 10mm but i also wanted to try out the underwood 230gr hardcast defense rounds i picked up. Well needless to say i put 3 of those hardcast rounds at the top of the magazine, first round fired then the other two failed to fire and got stuck in the very beginning of the barrel near chamber.. i then tried to shoot an aluminum round same thing got stuck right there and then finally tried a good brass round and same thing got stuck just a click. The primers were never hit and nothing was lodged in the barrel. I took it apart and cleaned it when i got home and I'm wondering if it was just dirty because to me everything seemed in working order including the firing pin and extractor. I will admit the gun wasn't lubed as well as it should have been and maybe this was the cause but I left unable to shoot anymore rounds through it and the range officer said he thinks it just needs to be cleaned and oiled but my time was over extended by 15 mins so I had to leave. Odd to me it malfunctioned right after trying to shoot the big heavy hardcast bullet though, but these guns are usually reliable and have a decent following and are known to eat any round you give it.. obviously not my experience as of right now. I am not a gun expert nor well versed on gun parts so any knowledge or suggestions would be helpful thank you!

Check for a lead ring at the end of the chamber. I've seen copper/brass shavings get stuck in the end. May have to look real close to see it. Normally a wire brush can clean it out. If you have some good quality ammo check to see if it will drop in easily and fall out on its on when inverted. It's called a plunk test used to make sure the brass is sized properly and the bullet is not contacting the leads of the rifling. Should be able to spin it. It will be a little harder to do since you have a carbine.

so upon further inspection theres actually a bullet casing lodged in there a couple inches down somehow i missed, does anyone have insight on how to get this out or should i just visit my local gunsmith? also would this happen because of the cheap blazer ammo or something wrong with rifle like battery or hammer?

The thing that works the best for extracting a casing is use a cleaning brush that's a little larger than the chamber, 45 cal. Push the brush in to it and pull back. Brushes do not like changing directions under load and will grab the casing.

Two inches, really? By "casing" do you mean a bullet jacket or the remnants of a cartridge case? If it's really 2 inches downbore I suspect the former, which you should be able to clear with a cleaning rod. If OTOH you suffered a head separation, leaving some of the brass case in the chamber, try Blue68's solution. If no joy, check back here.

its the bullet jacket and its about an inch and a half i just measured... but i also noticed the pin that holds the battery spring thingy in the stock is damaged and broke off with just me touching it... something seriously wrong happened and i never dropped the rifle or anything im extremely disappointed as this was a custom $1000+ 10mm carbine from thureon defense I think my only solution is to send it back to them now and ill have to pay shipping and everything.. i dont know if ill be buying from a smaller company again seeing as the rifle became useless in less than 400 rounds i can add pictures if it helps
