I need to know if an 1187 Youth is the same base shotgun with just a shorter stock. I would like to buy one and then find an 18"-20" bbl and a sling to give to my wife for a house gun on our anniversary in June. The local Wally-World has one for $175, they've been getting leftovers from California stores (I think) and selling them cheap. Just one of something comes in at random times and you get while the getting is good. This set up would replace the 12ga SxS that is her current 'howse gun'. I need to know quickly because the gun won't be there long. Although I guess I couldn't go wrong just buying it to have at that price.

Not deal.

STEAL!

Buy it NOW!!!

lpl/nc (You shoulda never walked away from it the first time...)

My wife is 5'1'' it took her shotgun shopping she tried the 1187 said it was to barrel heavy for her, we purchased a 391 youth instead. For the price of the 1187 I wouldn't pass it up though

Go buy it!!!

I bought an 11-87 Youth for my wife and daughter to use, last year.
I think the barrel is 21" long and the stock is 1" shorter than 'standard'.

Just for reference, I paid $419 for it.

Well, I blew it. Thanks for your replies. The counter guy was nice. I guess they had quite a run on firearms Saturday. See, I couldn't have put it on the card the first time I saw it 'cause that would have ruined the suprise and I was short on cash because of a recent purchase of 200 .45 WWB and some turkey loads. Oh well, I'll just try not to get caught short next time.

Short on cash. The story of my life!!!

I have one little 'hold-out stash' though.
I keep a C-note folded up and hidden in my wallet at all times.

IF I see a 'deal' that is too good to pass on, I'll use that C-note to put a 'hold' on the item (or pay for it, outright).

There will be another 11-87 Youth cross your path. It may not be for that price, but, you'll find one.
