Hi, I keep a 12ga pump gun nearby at home and would like a shoulder bag that would hold at least a box of 25 rounds, have a comfortable shoulder strap, maybe an auxiliary pouch and a bonus would be a few 12ga loops on the outside for fast access to extra ammo. I'm hoping someone can recommend one like this. The other option would be a small canvas haversack with an "ammo sling" for a strap I would build myself. Any suggestions?

Try Jeff's Outfitters he carries a English speed bag made of leather.
The bags are not cheap, but will do the job.

I like Hawkepaks Mini Mag Cache bag for $50. I use it on all road trips for my spare ammo.

These are 15 round loop inserts awesome too. Fit in any M-4 mag pouch or jeans back pocket.

Or Active Shooter Bag for $38. I have not personally handed this one but seems good.

Here are 2 more ammo storage options:

Shotgun cards 5-7 rounds $14

Or search EBay for Leather shotshell buttstock holder usually craftsmen from Ukraine or Russia but quality work for about $25 delivered:

When I thought I wanted to try skeet shooting I found a two pouch skeet shooters bag that was for loaded shells and empties. They ought to be fairly easy to find.

I can carry a couple hundred in a back pack. 25 is no problem at all in my dove vest. It’s net except for where the birds and shells go so it’s not like it’s covering you up, just stays with you better than something looped over your shoulder.

Is this to be used for HD, "bugging out", or something else?

For HD, a loose bag around your neck is not conducive to being able to reload quickly. For bugging out, you'll want more than 25 rounds.

I second P226s recommendation. Not inexpensive, but Olongapo Outfitters stuff is bomb proof.

I got a Swedish courier pouch that will hold 2 boxes of shells from the Army Navy store. Best field bag I ever picked up for $10.

Old Claymore bag or somehting similar. Mine has an extra small pocket inside the big pouch. That is where I place my slugs.
