I recently ordered a "chamber adapter" from numrich so I could shoot .32acp in my enfields, and one of the other ones they had listed was an adapter to shoot .357 rounds out of a 12ga shotgun. It's just a piece of steel in the shape of a shotgun shell with a cutout to hold a .357 shell.

Has anyone used one of these? I've only shot 2 rounds with my .303/.32 adapter so far, and it seemed to work alright, but it seems like a .357 bullet might possibly just bounce around in a shotgun barrel, and I can't imagine it being very accurate.

For the price, it is kinda tempting though, especially since I don't currently own a .357 and have lots of ammo in that caliber.

Is it rifled in the short distance from the case mouth to the end of the adapter?

Even if it was, a one inch barrel is gonna hurt .357 velocity quite alot.

I hope you have better luck than I did. Last year I bought a pair of 20 Gauge by 44 Mag inserts for my Ithica / SKB side by side from Numrich. They go in fine and eject just like they are regular 20 Ga. shells. The big problem is getting the pistol case out of the insert after being fired. My first thought was to use a short dowel thru the front and poke the case out of the insert. Furgetaboutit. Ended up going into my shop for a thin bladed screwdriver and a hammer. Had to beat it pretty good to release the empty .44. Tried a couple of more with the same results. No accuracy testing was performed. Numrich doesn't make these. They are manufactured by Dina Arms of aluminium and have six grooves of rifling. Both companies refused to reply to my e-mails requesting technical support from them. My advice is not to buy them without speaking to somebody regarding their return policy. If you buy them you need not worry about them bouncing along the walls of your barrel. That just can not happen. I would like to know how you make or made out with the products.

I got 3 of them, 12/357, 12/45lc, 20/9mm, had them for years. lots of fun. 7yds they hit good, after that I donno never tried on paper.
