Just grabbed 500 rounds of 150 grain Nosler Sporting Handgun JHPs and was wondering if there is anyone out there that has a good velocity load for this weight. I searched, and unless I skipped over it, only seen loads for 180s and up. I do have plenty of great recipes that work in my pistol for the heavier loads but want to try working with the 150s.

Load will be for a Glock 29.
Powders onhand:
Longshot
800-X
HP-38
Auto-Comp
Power Pistol
Blue Dot

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I load 10mm, but I don't have my books in front of me at this moment, and I ain't moving an inch right now, bad hip, plus miles and miles of walking, has me down and out for the night.

But right off the top of my head, I'm fairly certain Longshot or Blue Dot will be the ticket for full tilt 10mm jacketed loads. I use both, but I don't recall if I've ever loaded anything as light as 150's. But if data exists for them, I'm likely to have published data for such.

I'll get back with ya in the AM.

Thanks GS, much appreciated!

" Why don't you just use the data provided by Nosler for their bullets? It's a much better source than anonymous strangers on the internet........."

Of course I already used what Nosler recommended but I'd also like to see what others had success with. I'm pretty much a Nosler guy and about 95% of the time I work with what they recommend.

800x blue dot and power pistol are good choices for 10mm. Use 150/155g data.

Another vote for 800x in 10mm Auto!! Use Current data available...meters like corn flakes tho, I use RCBS ChargeMasters for this one

Loaded some using 800-X and Blue Dot. Wow, thank goodness I have the Charge Master, cause 800-X really does meter like corn flakes. Hopefully weather remains range friendly and I can run some through the 29 tomorrow then decide the next recipe to work up.
Thanks for all the info and advice. Much appreciated!

Have not used Blue Dot in my 10mm as I have read it is flashy as all get out....if shot during the day it shouldn't be an issue but at night might make you see a solar eclipse between shots :fire::eek:

I know you didn't list AA powder in your list, but that is about all I have used with my 10mm. I found that AA-5 or 7 worked out really well with the mid weight bullets depending on just how fast your wanting them to go. Use the 5 for the lighter target type, and the 7 for the GIT-R-DUN type.

I simply found that it metered like water and gave me great accuracy and velocity. I know a ton of others like different powders but those have worked well enough for me for close to 25yrs I never felt a need to change. If you can't find those, try something in that burn range and you should be fine.
