Are there any recipes that allow 158 grn bullets that normally go thru a 38 spl shoot thru a 9 mm?

Likewise. Are there 38 recipes that shoot 9 mm bullets....115 grn etc.

Here's some info:

158 grain LRN 9MM Loads (Start reading at post #4)

158 gr. RN in 9mm ... with a fine grain powder (Post #15)

158 gr SWC in 9mm Luger

158 gr 9mm load?

I'd suggest you use lead bullets in the .355- .356" range as all the info above pertains to lead bullets.

I'm going out to the shop later. I'll check some of my manuals to see if I can find more data.

For the .38 just use any data for 120 gr. bullets. If you're using 120 gr. leads bullets intended for the 9mm, you'll very likely experience leadin g in the 38 because of the undersized bullet. If however they're jacketed bullets it'll probably be OK.

Thats some bad info right there on Handloads.com.

The data from the Lyman #45 manual is not for a LSWC.
It is for mold #358311, which is a LRN.

A 158 SWC in a 9mm case would very likely have to be seated so deep to miss the rifling leade the base of the bullet would get into the case web and bulge the case.

If you are going to do it, you will very likely have to do it with RN bullets, not SWC.
