Friend passed on & left me a Rem 870 16 gage pump in mint cond,
Any idea what this gun is worth $$ ?
Thanks in advance
H

Is it a Wingmaster? I believe it will be.

If so in mint condition they're buy it now prices on Gunbroker range in the $500-$600 range.

They're very nice shotguns and I love the nostalgia of a 16-gauge.

"Mint" means unfired and exactly as it came out of the factory.
"...Rem no longer makes a 16 gauge..." Not since 1980, but apparently briefly made around 2010 in their 'Classic' line. Rumoured to be less than stellar. Prices on used 16's vary a lot.

It is a fine shotgun and will do most anything you want to do with it.
Those Wingmasters are really nice.

It's none of my business, but are you going to hang onto it since it belonged to your friend?

i bought a used, but nice 870 in 16ga plain barrel with mod. choke made in the late 60,s for 175.00 last spring. eastbank.

I don't know. I have reloaded 12 gage for ever.
I will see what the kids think

Plain barrel I am guessing $350-$450, if Vent Rib, add about $100 to that figure, depending on the area and demand. Usually will only appeal to people that collect 16 gauge shotguns or already have something in 16 gauge already.

I saw one in very good condition sell at an estate auction last month for $350. I bought a 12 ga Wingmaster with vent rib in excellent condition for $470 at the Tulsa Gun Show last year. In the course of buying that one, I priced a bunch of them including several 16s. The asking prices varied wildly. Yours will probably be between $400-$500.

This is most likely "12ga with 16ga barrel", no vent rib or Remchokes. Top value would be about $400.

I am a big fan of the older Remington Wingmasters shotguns. It is just my opinion but I think they are one of the best pump shotguns made. At one time Remington took a lot of pride in the manufacturing of there 870 Wingmasters. As far as how valuable they are I am not sure, but like every else that has commented about $400 to $500.

The new 870 Wingmaster with Light Contour barrel is the best 870 Remington every made. It has nicer wood, cut checkering and high polish blue that does not oxidize easily. It is far superior to old Wingmasters.
