I think you nailed it, mavracer. As I've mentioned several times before on THR, when I was growing up, my mom and dad owned and operated a small country store/gas station. That store was located right in the heart of some of the best dove, quail, pheasant, duck and goose hunting country in the whole state. So naturally, Mom and Dad stocked shotgun shells in their store (they even sold a few guns by special order).There's just so much overlap with shotguns and shotgun sports, IMHO it comes down to it isn't more popular because it's not more popular.
They are that. Paid $5 for mine about 40 years ago. Definitely not on a 12 ga frame. Took some work to get a 12 butt stock to fit.View attachment 1200142
