I saw something new at my LGS yesterday- ammunition from a company called 1776. It is lead free and jacketted in some type of nylon. It is designed for training use, especially for indoor ranges. What caught my eye was the price- $22 for a box of 50 45 ACP. It is loaded with a 145 grain bullet and they claim 1150 FPS. I would use these in my Glock 21 and several different 1911's, if I decide to get any. Glock wouldn't vouch for the ammo- the guy from Glock I talked to had never heard of them but he said as long as there is a jacket and they are SAAMI spec, he didn't see an issue. I will be asking the same question of 1776, BTW- they have a website. So before I get invested in any of this, I would like to hear any stories good or bad about anyone's experiences using this ammo. Also, what caliber and the type of gun you fired it from.

Extra light bullet might not shoot to the sights.
I imagine it will fly high. That said, I wouldn't be using it for shooting groups. Most of my pistol shooting is realistic drills at combat speed and inside 25 yards. A-zone is good enough for that.
