I won't ever buy one again even if they do. My CZ 452 in 17 HMR is a very cbable rifle if I need a 17 cal. A .223 can do anything above that.
I was sold on the 17 WSM when it came out. I got the B-Mag, popped for a Boyd's Stock, and topped it with the 17 WSM specific BSA scope. Looking back I feel like every bit of that was a mistake. I could have bought another CZ or gotten a nice 204 Ruger for what I had in it. I got about 2" groups at 50 yards with both types of Winchester ammo that were available at the time. I never could get it to group no matter what I did, and it had alot to do with vertical stringing. I know they have a heavy barrel version now and there are more ammo choices but if I want a low recoil varmint roun I'll go with the 204. At least I could reload those to go my liking. I'll also never buy anything that says BSA on it again.
If you do get one you can probably just factor in buying another stock. This one is BAD, even for Savage. The bolt handle is small which is very frustrating on a cock-on-closing action. The safety liked to activate itself when operating the bolt. You probably already knew all these things. I guess I'm just trying to say, from somebody who had one, it might not be worth it... Rant over.
