Would 180 gr. Winchester .303 Brit be alright to shoot through my 1945 No.5 Enfield? I have a small amount of surplus ammo, but I came across this Winchester ammo and I am wondering if it will be too hot for my rifle.
I've found that Winchester .303 can have a radically different point of impact than .303 ball ammo. Best be sure it shoots accurately in your rifle before buying it in bulk.
Also if a .303 Enfield bore is slightly worn it will still shoot Mk 7 cordite loaded ammo with good accuracy but be very inaccurate when used with ammo loaded with regular smokeless powders.
The initial shock of Cordite slugs the bullet to better fit the throat and leade.
