I was browsing the Ruger site, and found a No. 1 in .303 British. I really like the .303 British caliber, and always wanted a single shot in this caliber. I like shooting my Lee Enfield. I have been wanting a .30 caliber that slings a 180 to 220 grain bullet for a long time. I have one in the Enfield, but wanted a shorter sportier rifle, but couldn't bring myself to chopping up the 1943 Lithgow.

Now I have to start saving for a new rifle. Seems as soon as I get one another shows up needing a home.

A Ruger Nmber One in any caliber is a great rifle and I'm sure that 303 will increase in collector value as time goes by. I kow that my 1B's in 22 Hornet and 6mm Rem have increased in price since Ruger discontinued them.

Hey that`s pretty cool, can`t say as I have ever seen one in .303 Brit. I do know that over the years, the No. 1 has been chambered in several different cartridges, among them .204 Ruger, .22 Hornet, .218 Bee, .222 Remington, .223 Remington, .22PPC, .22-250 Remington, .220 Swift, 6mm PPC, 6 mm Remington, .243 Winchester, .257 Roberts, .25-06 Remington, .264 Winchester Magnum, .270 Winchester, .270 Weatherby, 6.5 Remington, 6.5x55mm, 7x57mm, 7mm-08, .280 Remington, 7 mm Remington Magnum, 7 mm STW, .308 Winchester, .30-30 Winchester, .30-40 Krag, .30-06 Springfield, .303 British, .300 Winchester Magnum, .300 H&H Magnum, .300 Weatherby Magnum, .338 Winchester Magnum, .357 Magnum, .375 H&H Magnum, .375 Ruger, .38-55 Winchester, .404 Jeffrey, .405 Winchester, .416 Remington Magnum, .416 Ruger, .416 Rigby, .45-70 Government, .458 Lott, 9.3 x 74R and .450/400 Nitro Express. That`s kind of neat, hang on to it.

I love mine with irons in 30-06, most versatile caliber out there.

Why they never chambered the gun in 7.62x54r is beyond me.
The 303 I understand was made primarily for the Canadian market where 303 is still a big caliber.

theres on offered in one of the Cabellas stores. Saw it on their gun library just now....1050.00 as i recall. Dandy find, hope you enjoy it!
