I just recently heard about Kirst conversions and googled a few things here and there, it seems that most people are happy with their conversions but when it comes to the 1849 in 32 S&W, the pistol wouldn't be very accurate because the bullet diameter is slightly smaller than the bore diameter. my question is, is there another cartridge whose bullet would be of suitable diameter and would only require reaming the cylinder chambers or other small modifications? i'm no gunsmith and would like a conversion but don't want to break the bank, and intend to get into reloading when possible so a cartridge that's typically smokeless but could be reloaded as black powder instead is fine too.

You use a skirted projectile. Upon firing the base of the projectile expands to fit the rifling.
