well the good news it that it functions flawlessly. went through 100 rounds of .45 colt and it was smooth as silk. and very accurate

now the bad news................I need to buy .45 colt reloading dies for my lee loader

That's not bad news.
That's an excuse to buy more stuff. :)

So, where can I buy one of those carbines, and how much do they run.

Time to make a wooden forward pistol grip that attaches to the loading lever and sticks down far enough to keep your off hand safe.

That hook below the trigger guard is where the off hand is supposed to grip. Even with cartridge conversions, having your hand or wrist over the cylinder gap is not a good idea.

Very Nice!
I think Kirst makes a very nice product. I have 3 conversions (Konversions) and they are just awesome!! (no, I don't work for them lol.)

1858 carbine

just got my remington 1858 sheriff and love it, want a carbine next, and put kirst converters on both. price I seen was 595.00 on the carbine through taylors and company.

Taylor's really does a nice job with their revolvers. The action is smooth and the trigger pull on all of my revolvers I have bought from them is nothing short of match grade.
