This is where the 1858 Remington is meant to be shot just a short fun video I found while cleaning out my old hard drives.

My lady was shooting full 35-40 grains real homemade BP loads at a gong at about 20 yards/meters. I thought she was very cool please tell her so in the comments she pretty much hasn't shot it since complains it is too loud LOL.

My favorite C&B design if for nothing else, there are no arbors to fix or get loose, the relationship of sights to bore never varies, and cap jams are rare to non-existent. Pictured is my Uberti with R&D .45 Colt cylinder.

It's always nice to see woman shooting, especially BP. We're in our 70s now, but years past the wife would shoot in local woods walks and even won once or twice. Tell her to stick with it, and no, they're not too loud.

Its not truly the loudness as she was wearing ear protection its the boom which is felt rather than heard IMO. She will shoot small cal like .22 lr all day long but that BP or shotgun boom makes her cry.

It is a different sound I gotta say, I don't find the blackpowder boom uncomfortable but I reckon others do.

I love the BP boom that's the best part IMO.
