I think that it is.
The only way to get a better deal than that is to try to buy one at an auction.
That doesn't mean that you can always sell it to get all of your money back, it depends on the market and who's looking to buy.
I don't have a blue book or anything, it's just my gut feeling that it's a fair deal.
If you don't buy it then someone else will.
It seems like the set is in fine shape and is a collectible.
$500 each for the guns.
$250 for the stock.
$250 for the case.
What's to complain about?
It's less than or equal to what some other non-collectibles would cost.

Here I was ready to reply with my scant knowledge of these sets when Mr. arcticap and Mr. Kibbey show up with more than I could ever add. I would try to find out if they have sequential serial numbers. I think $250 for the English-fitted case (two revolvers, shoulder stock, and accoutrements) is a lowball number; it should be more like $400+. No signs of loose dividers or rough use.

My only concern is that the seller (Auburn WA) seems intent upon doing the sale through an FFL holder. I live in SW WA State in the boontoolies, about 100 miles away from the seller in "Pugetropolis". That area is not very gun "friendly" and unless you live within driving distance of the seller, the FFL fees and shipping will drive up the actual price commensurately. Even so, some dealers here will insist on a background check of the buyer just for their CYA.

If I had my Biden $1400 stimulus check in the bank I would grab it. To me, those are safe queens and would not/should not be shot. Given that these are pandemic times with no documented restart times for the Italian factories to resume production (and catch up on back-orders), and revolvers being scarce-to-non-existent, I would not put it past shooters with money in their pockets to "load-em-up", not know the value. In my mind, this is what the market has come to with no inexpensive, run-of-the-mill revolvers available. Classic case of supply and demand.

I will confess that I bid on and won a Navy Arms/Pietta Spiller & Burr .36 BL/1998 that has been sitting NIB for 22 years. My bid was $355 plus $20 shipping, and a year ago I could have picked one up from DGW for about $250 plus $20 shipped.

I am still trying to find my crystal ball and wondering where my 20/20 hindsight went.

Regards,

Jim

Jim, I see the JL KWILINSKI revolver went to an onsite buyer - Sorry!
I was on an other auction trying to pick up the Jensen but they went over my limit.

If you buy it, Super Glue will work wonders on the partitions but make sure that the seller ships all the internals separate from the case so that no more of the partitions are torn off its floor. I just bought a case off Ebay that included a flask and mold. I forgot to remind the seller to pack the flask and mold separately. When I got the case, the mold had torn up two of the partitions. They glued back well with super glue but I had to go out and buy it and mess with fixing the case. Maybe ask if he will knock a bit off for the torn up case???

EK, I so wanted that gun but my funds were limited as there was a 20% Internet Premium on it. I think it went for a very nice price, and I just wish I had had the money to bid on it more. I was stuck with my maximum bid $325 with what was left of my January stimulus check since I won an auction on GB for a NIB Navy Arms/Pietta Spiller & Burr .36 BL/1998 revolver.

I just hope the winner of that Dragoon realizes what a unique gun he has. We will most likely never hear of it again. So sad...

Regards,

Jim

Actually, plain old white glue works well for regluing partitions. I well understand that sellers ship the gun and accoutrements in the case whereas the shipper can just treat it like something shipped from Amazon with all of the air bubble stuff. Been there. Beware.

Thank you all for your thoughts on this set, I am located only about 40 min away from them which makes it all the more tempting. I have decided to pass, not due to pricing but simply that I don’t think I would get enough enjoyment out of them sitting there looking pretty and not using them. And if I did use them, I would be disappointed that they no longer look so pretty. This is also why I will probably never own a nice car, I like to be able to just use it without worrying about it.
