Is 6" slide heavier than 5"?

If so, does that mean you have to run hotter load on 6" to get it to cycle?

I may want to use it for Bullseye/PPC match, so I want the power factor to be low. Deciding to get a 5 or 6.

no idea. but you could always run a softer spring in the 6" with light PPC loads

I'd think that it would be heavier due to the extra length unless they make them with thinner cross sections. But the correct recoil of the slide is based on both the slide weight and the recoil spring power. Unless you're shooting really soft loads you should be able to tune it with one of the available reduced power recoil springs.

I'm thinking if the slide is heavier, then the spring would have to be stronger too to close the slide properly. And maybe a 5" gun is better for PPC/Bullseye eventhough the sight radius is less. Does this theory make sense?

It will definitely be heavier and will also feel more muzzle heavy compared to a 5". It won't have the balance that a 5" will. I've seen competition 1911s have the front sight extended past the muzzle an extra inch on a 5" gun. It gives you a 6" sight radius without the extra weight and muzzle-heavy feel of a 6" 1911.
