Well, I kind of lost count how many rounds I've got through this RIA now... must be between 6 & 7k. The latest part to break was the barrel bushing. I was shooting some (IDPA) headshots at 10 yards and all of a sudden I saw my recoil spring fly out! Major bummer since I've got a match coming up next Saturday. I suppose if I order something from Brownells today or tomorrow I might get it in time to install and test before the match.

Any recommendations on a replacement? King's, Nowlin, Ed Brown, etc...?

I wonder what the radius is between the body and shoulder of the bushing. Nice photo, looks like fatigue failure originating at that radius .

EGW sounds good.

I've used a Nowlin bushing now for many tens of thousands of rounds...good "stuff" too.

How many parts have you broken on that gun ...if I may ask?

The extractor started to not hold tension so I guess that would apply. The ejector sheared off. The recoil spring plug cracked - didn't put the gun out of comission like the ejector and barrel bushing though. ... and now the barrel bushing.

I pre-emptively replaced the trigger, sear, hammer, hammer strut and mainspring - so I haven't had any trouble with those. :)

Oh - and when I first bought the gun, Tuner was gracious enough to press fit the barrel link pin because that was litterally falling out.

A buddy of mine has offered to fit a match bushing for me. He's built several 1911's, knows what he's doing and has access to a lathe. I'll probably take him up on the offer.

Thanks everyone!
