Purchased a rock island mid size 9mm/22 tcm combo with the idea of fitting a 38 super and having a little trifecta.
So barrel fits beautifully , only issue I have run into is how to open up the breechface a hair or so as that 38 super diameter is couple thousands wider. Found a few dead threads where other folks have taken on the project but noone ever talks about how they got the job done.

Another thing to consider is the ejector.
The 9mm ejector is a lot longer due to the shorter case.

Im at one step at a time part of the project. I hear a lot of people mention that, but funny thing is RIA from the factory looks like they included the 38 super mag , not a 9mm mag with spacer etc.

Have you tried a .38super case in the breech face yet? It may fit just fine as is.

RIA uses the .38super mag because the .22TCM cartridge is just long enough that is will hang up on a 9mm mag (unless you use their .22TCM 9R cartridges with a shorter projectile, made for their Glock conversion barrel kit).

The .22TCM cartridge is based on a .223, necked down for the TCM projectile. I never considered your project, but a .38super cartridge base might fit against the breech face just fine-- check the measurements or just use a .38super cartridge to check it.
Finally, the ejector should be fine... it works with the shorter 9mm flawlessly, so .38super should not be a problem.

My mid-size RIA TCM pistol works flawlessly with 9mm and TCM ammo. I will say the FACTORY mags are much better for .22TCM than the MecGar .38super mags they sometimes send out. (springs are too heavy in those and the feed lips have not been modified like the RIA factory branded mags, causing poor feeding of the TCM cartridges when the MecGar mags are loaded to capacity. 9mm will run fine in either, and I suspect so will .38super.)
