I have posted mine in other threads but not in the picture thread. This started out as a standard Citadel (Armscor) Gov't 1911; then it got a new thumb safety, trigger, front sight, arched MSH, and hard chrome treatment by APW.

Since this picture was taken I got some new mesquite wood grips but I haven't had the chance to get a decent picture with them yet.

Going to give it a trigger job and replace those hideous US grips........
otherwise, leaving it stock!

Chuck I sure hope that pic gives Sen Fiensteien a heart attack.. Sweet black pistol and that super scarey, deadly ammo!!! :)

Here's my attempt at putting lipstick on a pig. My AMT Hardballer purchased new in 1987. Here's the before pic...

It started off with me wanting to install a beavertail grip safety and commander hammer, and ended with about eight hours worth of polishing, laser etching the slide, new Wilson Combat spring set, and some homemade Koa wood grips with hand cast pewter medallions. :D

That's a pretty successful lipstick job. The porcine qualities only show through now in that trigger. I think it would look a good deal better with a three hole or solid. Either way, though, it looks a whole lot better than stock AMT trim.

Four of them

If it attaches, here are 4 of the last few out the door.

Thanks. Trigger, sear and disconnector are all in the queue for round two upgrades.

Nice job BHarada! Like the subtle name change too.
That was the entire reason why I had the slide etched. :D Luckily I was able to find a guy locally who does laser etching as a side business. It only cost me $45.

BHarada - First off, GORGEOUS GUN! It's like night and day lookin' at the before and after pics. Amazing job. Also, I think the trigger looks really good the way it is, I think that style looks way better than 3-hole, and = or > solid trigger, but that's just my lil ol opinion.

Secondly, LOVE the subtle Haradaballer name change, I looked at it twice, and scratched my head once or twice before realizing your username, hehehehe. That is Ballin! :D

Highpower, Love that Springer, it is so beautiful!

Highpower, that Springfield definitely has some history to it.

I like the look of the stock trigger as well, but I'm in the process of replacing the internals mainly because they're AMT parts. I had the sear break after the first time I shot the gun back in '87. AMT replaced it, but the quality of the internal parts is crude at best.

One day I'll have to spring for a new barrel and bushing as well. :D

BHarada- That is one sharp gun, very nice work, certainly the best looking AMT I've ever seen. Great job!

Bill,
That is hands down the most beautiful AMT I've ever seen, and one of the most beautiful 1911s in general, I've seen. Hopefully, it runs as good as it looks.

I once had a AMT Govt. model, but I don't want to talk about it.
