I don't know if that is the correct term, strength, but I was curious about the recoil spring in my Springfield Milspec. It is much stronger than the one in my Springfield Loaded. I have shot the loaded much more, maybe 1000+ rounds, but would that be the only difference. I bought both guns new so I don't think the springs have been changed, at lease I haven't changed them. Is the loaded's spring wearing out? Or is it just different springs for different guns?

Thanks.

P.S. I don't really care for the stronger spring and was looking to maybe change it, but wanted to know if it was actually stronger or because the other one was wearing out.

As far as I know, the SA Milspec and Loaded 1911s both come standard with a 16 pound recoil spring. Maybe the milspec feels "stiffer" because it isn't broken in yet?
