1911 Springfield Trigger

I have a 1911 Springfield that I am going to install a McCormick Trigger and Cylinder & Slide Hammer, Sear and Disconnector in. I know the trigger cannel of a Springfield is tapered and I will end up with vertical movement after I file the trigger shoe to fit the gun. How do I go about fitting the trigger shoe to prevent vertical movement after it is fitted. Should I file the cannal or work only with the trigger shoe ? Thanks Norman
