Hello fellas i was at the shop yesterday to confirm that my dealer ordered my spikes tactical complete 22lr upper(i have to trade my GSG so he has to order it for me) so i started inquiring how much for a complete lower, he said why dont i just build one my self becs he have the RRA stripped lower for $170 i think, he also got some DPMS AR kit and a Tapco stock , this will be my 1st ever try on building a lower so I'm kinda nervous to start but the good thing is one of the guys who usually build his own told me just try it and if i can't do it he'll do it for me so anyway here it is..total cost was $388 including tax..

Without knowing how much you paid for the stock and guts, you got hosed on the stripped lower, at least compared to non-crisis prices.

The trickiest part is putting in the forward take-down pin detent. Just be careful, and make sure that you are working in a place where you can find a spring or part that gets launched out of your grip. I have some very small scratches on the front of the holes for the bolt-catch pivot pin, but I really don't care. Use the masking tape if you're worried about the cosmetics. (I could care less about cosmetics.)

I would not call $170 for a stripped RRA these days hosed. There are cheaper lowers, but not RRA's.

Congrats. Those directions over on Arfcom are what I used to build my Anvil Arms lower. It was cheaper back then than now too. $100 vs $140 today.

Be sure to post pics when you are done.

+1 to what mljdecard wrote. good advice.

One additional thing to look out for - more than one new AR build has been ruined by breaking off one of the "ears" of the trigger guard pin. Support that sucker with something solid before you begin taping in the pin.
