Hi there!

a) Preamble:
I suspect there's a great FAQ, perhaps even on this site, and I would be very pleased to discover it. I've been skimming, but I haven't found answers to the two small questions I have right now.

b) Background, by way of explanation:
I am at present a resident of Tennessee; I am likely to move towards the end of this year to Austin (where I've lived before -- an attractive city in many ways, despite the Texas heat).

The questions:

1) For those of you with C&R licenses, how long did the process of obtaining yours take? (Weeks? Months?)

2) For those with C&R licenses who have moved from one state to another, did you face much hassle therefore?

I am interested (it's not urgent, but I like the idea!) of getting my C&R license, but am wondering whether I'll create a mini-nightmare for myself by getting it in the months before moving states. (Would I have to re-apply entirely?)

Thanks for any clues, including pointed links to the FAQ I'm overlooking ;)

Same here ~ was about three weeks from the time I mailed it until it was at my house.

It's hard to tell how long it'll take, in my case it was a couple of months to get the C&R. It was fairly easy to move within state (they just had me send in a letter asking them to change the address and a copy sent to the CLEO of the new area). I'd say that took maybe 2 weeks to get the new one to me.

Depending on how long you have until you move, it may just be worth waiting but I'm sure you'll really enjoy it once you get it. It's well worth it, though it does tend to put strains on the bank account (too many good deals on C&R guns out there).
