Hello all- I’m looking for a safe set up for 1 or 2 long guns for inside a closet. Think capable of holding a shotgun or AR for home defense, allowing rapid access, but can still be secured for short trips like going to the grocery store. (I’ve got a big one for vacations and stuff) The Hornady Rapid Safe ones are pretty close to what I’m looking for, but I like to check all my options.

Any suggestions appreciated.

If you want something less than a normal style safe you could consider the wall mounted style Hornady Rapid safe for AR’s and the Solo safe for shotguns and maybe rifles, can’t remember. Some small under the bed style safes are out there as well, if that’s an option.

Barska makes a small 3 gun (I think) safe.

just brainstorming.

ETA:
I should have read the OP twice… my reading comprehension not hitting on a lot today apparently.

Looks like Barska makes a couple that would fit what I’m looking for. Anyone have experience with their products? Good quality?

Ok I ended up buying a Barska HQ800. (less than 400 bucks on Amazon when I ordered) A quick review if anyone is interested.

The Barska seems well made. I've had it about 3 weeks now, and all locking mechanisms (key, key pad, fingerprint) are working well. The latch is easy to use. Small footprint. A few things to be aware of if you're looking at one. This is a small footprint, and doesn't have much space. I've got a Mossberg 500 and a 16 inch AR with a LPVO in it, but very tight. The depth is shallow enough I couldn't fit the AR in with a 30 round Pmag, so I went with a 20 rounder. If that's a requirement for you, buy larger. (I don't think it would work with the 30 round mag even with just irons on the rifle.) It's not designed to be fireproof or really make it hard for a thief to cut through, but it's secure enough for my bump in the night safe. (The big fire/theft resistant one is bolted down in another room. It was easy to bolt to the wall in my closet, comes with decent mounting hardware and batteries. Programming the lock is simple, and there's a lot of memory for fingerprint storage. (It works for both my thumbs and index fingers and my wife's.)

Overall it works well for what I wanted. My only real disappointment is being unable to fit a 30 round mag in the rifle in the safe, but that's honestly not that big a deal for me. (There is a shelf to keep a convenient reload.) If the size isn't an issue (or being small is a bonus) then this is a good option. Thanks DeepSouth, I'd never even heard of them until you mentioned it.
