I recently purchased my first set of dies (after reading the ABC's and THR for quite some time.) I'll be loading 7.62x39.

My first question is: I noticed the depriming pin is not entirely centered in the bottom of the resizing die... it's pretty close, but not exactly in the center. Is this normal (i.e., will it be moved to the center when actually working a case) or do I need to reassemble it?

Question number 2: In the instructions, there seems to be a discrepancy. In the paragraph about the bullet seating die, it says that you cannot crimp the neck unless the bullet has a crimping groove. In the next step, for the Lee Factory Crimp die, it says a groove is not necessary, and that one will be created when crimping. What gives?

Thanks in advance! My press is on its way (backordered, but I'm in no hurry!)

The pin will center , no prob. here.

Lee factory crimp doesn't need a crimp ring in the bullet it will make one, the rest need a crimp ring.

When you resize the first case, leave the ram up with the case still in the die.

Now, loosen the decapper rod collet several turns, spin the rod a couple of turns, and then lock it back down. That aligns the collet threads with the die body and centers any thread slop.

Since the deprimer pin is aligned inside the case flash-hole already, it will be better centered this time.
