Very nice looking 'shootin irons' guys!

I really need to update my photos!

Some of my pictures from an iphone 4s that I haven't had in at least 12years.

Seriously though, nice pistold

Target models have sear and trigger over travel adjustment.

Liked the looks of the Contour model.
None around.

Got like new used Target 5.5 and ordered a brand new Contour bbl from MGW. Striplin grip adapters w some old Pachs i had laying around. Yanked sights and slapped a reflex.

Pretty sweet

As far as I can tell, mechanically the same. I’ve had 2 Rugers, MKIII 5” barrel, which was a pretty good gun, and a 22/45 Lite, which I finally got rid of after 2 trips back to Ruger- it was a jam-o-magic, they could never fix it. Then bought a Buckmark Hunter, 7 1/2 barrel, beautiful wood grips, accurate, very well balanced. Stock trigger was better than both Rugers by far, I did a little work on it myself, the spring ‘flip’ and Tandemcross trigger and some polishing on the sear, now at 1.7 lb trigger pull, I love this gun! Much more reliable than either Ruger- it seems to eat anything.

Thank you for posting such great pics, I've decided even the "plain" versions look good!
It's been so long since I've shot my brother's Buckmark I couldn't tell you which version it was, but IIRC it's similar to CoalCrackerAl's. I do remember it fit me well and since then I've had the bug.

Anyway, thought you might want to see what I settled on....

You have to love them. That one has considerably more wear now. I have somewhere around 21k rounds through it, if I had to guess. Had a few instances years ago where a friend and I went through four of the 525 bulk packs between the two of us over a weekend at his cabin. I did have to replace the extractor. :D

I wanted the Target model for the trigger and sear adjustment, but NEVER liked the looks of the round bbl.

Idea was to get one and put a slab side bbl on it.

But my eyes got old and mandated an optic so went w the Contour bbl so I could use the Targets full rib.

Could have got a slab side and Weigand top rail but the Target has a rail so only needed a diff bbl. No blued ones in stock so got the stainless.

No biggie, can get it coated later.

For an iron sighted Buckmak, slab sided is the looker IMHO

Have never owned a Buck mark. They never really appealed to me. I did buy the great, great, great granddaddy, to the Buck mark, a few months back. A Belgium Challenger. Wanted one for a long time. Probably paid a bit more, than what a Buck mark would have cost. It is all steel, nice bluing, very well fitted and finished. It is a beautiful little .22 pistol.

LGS has had 2 Challengers come through in the last yr.
Been a lot longer since a Medalist been by.

If ya get a Medalist proly need a Rem 600 to go with LOL

You got yourself a great pistol!
You don't need me or anyone else to tell you that!

Congrats

Thanks. I got a bit more in it than probably should.
New bbl and grip adapters, diff grips.
But I am kinda picky sometimes and got it the way I want it.
Am actually happy with it (rare thing).

I don't do IHMSA or indoor leagues anymore and my dad passed away so even just farting around at the club is pretty much over.

My youngest has health issues..
So .22 rf is her thing and that pistol w an optic, off bags........is OK.
She has a tremor but dang if she cant ping steel IHMSA chickens at 50 yards from a rest.

I like the Browning better than my CZ rifle. So for squirrel hunting............the pistol is my choice.
And I only shoot reds.
Which are not a game animal here (so can hunt yr round).
Take em only in squirrel season anyway (late- as I hate skeeters).

She hasn't shot my buds Browning w TacSol bbl and can.
If she did, I might be out a bit more money LOL.
And that is the thing w the Buckmark, you can modify them a bit.

Kid has port in chest so cant shoot rifles right handed. Risk of retina detach means recoil to be minimal.

So....she can rip pistols off bags. Enjoys clanging steel. Might end up losing my Buckmark LOL

To answer your original question: Yes, they are all the same internally. I owned one but sold it and kept my Ruger MK II. Not a bad gun, but it didn't do anything for me vs. my MK II.

Love the slabsided Buckmark, now if they would make it in 7 1/4 barrel. The slab sides are a beautiful gun!
