2020 Python 4.25 or 6 inch?

I've decided I am going to get a 2020 Python today or tomorrow.

Strangely I cannot decide between the 4.25 inch and 6-in barrels.

I I know the functional and practical differences between the two and probably will Not hunt with either.
It's more of an aesthetic consideration not functional since I already have 357 magnums ranging from 3-in to 8 inch barrels.

Any rule of thumb on the collectibility or value or what a python should truly look like and be?
I like both for different reasons
The 4.25 would be better for Carry
But there's something about the full-fledged look of the 6-in that just appeals to me but that could also be due to my prejudice for longer Barrels in general since I do hunt with revolvers but I don't plan to hunt with this one although I sure plan to shoot it

I like the 4.25 better ! I would think it may be the more collectible of the two .

You are asking the same question in multiple threads...likely to get the same responses from the same people...I personally would get the 4.25", but you do as you like.

I believe that the 6” was the original release, and that far more have been manufactured with the longer barrel length. So, the 4.2” is more rare, and may be more valuable to collectors down the road. But it sounds like your personal preference would be the 6” (which I agree is more attractive). The only reasonable solution to this dilemma is get one of each!

I prefer and got a 6" Python.

But, I do have a couple 4" 357 Magnum revolvers.

Thanks guys and yes I apologize for the multiple threads but I have to make a move by tomorrow or affordable pythons and other options will be gone.
I realize a lot of it is subjective and based in the end on what I like of course but there's no harm in collecting viewpoints and experience from folks here who have a lot of it.

And yes what would I expect here other than for you guys to tell me to get both
If my wife finds out I'm blaming it all on this site

The 4.25 barrel will always be more desirable but you should get the one that you will be happiest with. Don't spend that much money and settle.

As to the poor man's python the Dan Wesson 15-2 or the 7:15 I own both of those and they are fabulous shooters which also have their own type of Gravitas.
I just know I do need one more Colt.
I have the new model king cobra 3-in.
It's kind of bizarre but the 4-in Target model king cobra is now selling for only a few hundred dollars less than a python where is just this past weekend you could get one for $950
I guess the CZ buyout of colt is making all new production guns and old ones too most likely skyrocket?

Who knows... Colt could keep the Python same as is without changing a thing other than lowering the price which will, IMHO, deprecate the value of those that where purchased for around $1800-$2000. If CZ puts their stamp on them or makes a significant change, then the value of the pre-buyout Pythons might skyrocket in the future.

As of right now, prices are hight because of supply and demand. Demand is high, supply is low, so dealers are able to ask and receive hundreds above MSRP. MSRP is only $1499. Dealers are getting them for less than MSRP, but are selling them for $1800 to as much as $3000.

I want one, but I refuse to make a $400+ donation to opportunistic online sellers and LGS.

I personally like the looks and balance of the 4.25" more. My buddy picked one up a few months ago and it is nice and is fun to shoot.
Get which ever one you like better.

After looking over my collection of 357
(Not to mention my 44 Magnums 454 casulls and 460 Smith & Wesson that all have barrels ranging from 5 in up to 8 in)
A 4.25 was exactly what I was missing

I was thrilled to find today online a company that has them in stock and yes I ordered one sure I know the price is high but this was by far the best price anywhere available.
Yes I hate making greedy companies richer but
In the seller's market I can easily make the difference back selling an AR I no longer want or pretty much any thing I don't feel I need to keep. I have a Glock 40 that I bought for $600 that now is going for closer to a thousand.
So even with paying high which I hate to do as an old frontier Mexican bargainer you still can't take the smile off my face

I don't know Cajun, given my collection shown above the 4.25 maybe the final entry for pythons.
I'd rather get a 6-in barrel for my Dan Wesson 715 I could probably buy one with a 6-in barrel for $700 with the gun and everything if I look hard enough or wait for one to fall into my lap or I could buy a barrel for about $300.
The only other 357 I have I didn't put in the lineup because it's a Shape-shifter Changeling with a 2 inch 4-in and 6-in Barrel Dan Wesson 15-2 monson Mass, I bought it for 800 the other day I know that's a steal

I owned a 6 inch Python years ago. Got the 4.25 inch now. Both are great guns, but the 4.25 inch to me is a more user friendly gun in terms of EDC. It's easier to carry and conceal. Mine is and EDC. I changed the factory grips out for a smaller set of custom giraffe bone grips (service panel size). I got a custom holster from Don Sheldon, Cross Bar S Leather LLC. Very reasonable and fast turnaround.
