If you shot the match you heard that at least 20 times. Thankfully the Chrono guys didn't repeat the shpeel. Not putting down Beretta or Federal. I like them both.

ANYBODY ELSE SHOOT last weekend?

A blast. 7 stages a day for 3 days. 349 rounds down range. Weather was perfect, though a tad windy on Day 1. You can see the live stream videos at USPSA Facebook page.

Federal provided Match Approved ammo for sale. Since one could buy up to 1,000 rounds I went for it. 9mm 150gr Syntech Action Pistol ammo. Understand I shoot revolver so Federal is my friend. However, I'd never tried Syntech. But I went for it mainly to have the extra 500 rounds left over after the match. I brought 500 round of S&B just in case. My first stage was at Bay B2. Warmup bay was A5, a 1/4 mile away. First rounds were at 9am. Warmup bay didn't open until... come on... guess? 9am of course. So first stage, new untried ammo. a) Didn't know if the ammo would shoot in my revo. b) Had no idea were Point of Impact would be. c) I doubted it would make PF in my revolver as it was developed to make ~130PF in a lock-breech semi.

Great 3 days. Good squad, #112, all revolvers. I'm a class C shooter so a lot of the time is just standing around in awe of the Masters. Since the IRC was canceled last year this was a great meet up with all the other revolver shooters. I finished 2nd in my class and 381 out of 414 over all in the match shooting against, L-10, Production and Single Stack shooters. Practiced having a plan B and actually implemented it on several stages. Beat a number of master shooters on the weak hand skills stage. All in all a great time.

a) The ammo shot flawlessly. It is Federal after all. Not a single misfire. b) No noticeable difference in Point of Impact from my regular 147gr practice stuff. c) PF after 7 shots through the Chrono: 125.05. Of course it was Match Approved/Certified, so I would have been granted a waiver anyway.

Looking forward to the GA State match and to next years LoCap.

Sounds like a good time was had by all.
But why would Beretta sponsor a "low cap" match? They don't make one, or at least not one I would want to shoot a match with.

I shot GSSF yesterday. My first real outdoor GSSF after a good many indoor shoots at the local range. It was harder than I expected. A plate rack with a G43 in Pocket was plumb embarrassing.

I'm guessing you shot at the Mt Pleasant, TN match. Yeah, plates are the "fish-or-cut-bait" targets.

A lot of people in USPSA use Beretta 92's. For Production and Limited-10 you just download the magazines. Like most competitions they try to provide for those competitors from restrictive states. Hence you have "standard" capacity guns being shot with less than they are capable. And you do know Beretta is now importing revolvers?

Yes, Mt Pleasant - Eagle Eye range. I have shot USPSA and non-IDPA there before and knew the location.
Great fun, biggest disappointment was that Smawls Taproom was closed, no doubt a victim of the Panicdemic. Learned of a good BBQ, so we did not go hungry.

I hadn't thought of a downloaded Beretta in low-cap competition, but they even make strangulated magazines for repressive jurisdictions, so they fit. A 92X would make a good Production in DA/SA, L10 in SA. But I have not seen one in action. I don't travel a lot and have not seen anybody shooting a Beretta since E. Langdon.

I have seen the huhu over Beretta handling MR73. I wonder if it is just an export deal with a big company handling a smaller company's product in a new market or if Beretta has added Chapuis to their collection.

I don't think they are popular at all, but I guess that's why they are doing advertising.
