#209 Blackpowder primers

I ran across some #209 shotgun primers that were specifically marked for Triple 7 and Pyrodex powder ONLY.
Why do they say for blackpowder only? Isn’t a 209 primer just a 209 primer?
I don’t know and I’m curious.

I saw those quite a while ago, but I've never used them.

Those primers generally won’t work with Blackhorn 209. Hence the specification.

Those are only for use with 777 Muzzleloader powders. If using for blackhorn 209 you need a magnum shotgun primer like a cci or win. Cant use the 777 in shot shells either.

It pretty much said DO NOT USE in regular shot shell reloading. One of my underlying questions.
